Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Stark.
Scott, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My mother was suffering from cancer in the late 1980’s. During that time she needed a wig, and I went with her one day to shop for one. There weren’t a lot of options. The shops were small, they had limited inventory, and they were few and far between. It was then that I saw a real need for solutions in this area. That is where the idea was born.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As with any business, there are always challenges. Finding the right employee is usually one of our consistent ones. What we do is very specific. From fashion to medical related issues, each alternative hair specialist must be ready to handle every situation. It takes a lot of training, and we have to start with someone who is already a skilled stylist.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Bravadas Wigs and Extensions story. Tell us more about the business.
We are the industry leader in alternative hair products and care. We sell and service the finest wigs, hairpieces, and hair extensions on the market today. We are known for our private fitting rooms, and one on one consultations. I’m most proud of our world class customer service and attention to detail.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Hard work is essential. I hear people say, ‘the harder I work the luckier I get’. I don’t agree. Working hard will lead to success. Sometimes the level of that success is dependent on luck. Being in the right place at the right time can’t be achieved by hard work though. I’ve been blessed with lots of opportunities and I’ve tried to make the most of them. I love what I do, so I think I’m very lucky.
