Meet Seth Armes of Classy Works Inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Armes.

Hi Seth, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my first company, Classy Glass, in 2018—not on a whim, but out of deep discomfort with where I was in life. I didn’t yet have a clear roadmap, but I knew I wanted more: more purpose, more growth, and more meaning in the work I was doing. At the time, I didn’t fully understand what building and running a company truly demanded—only that I was willing to learn.

From the beginning, my goal wasn’t just to offer services, but to build something that made a difference through people and relationships. Selling is one thing, but growing alongside the communities you serve is something far greater. That principle still guides everything I do today.

By 2019, Classy Glass had taken off faster than I ever expected. Demand surged, my schedule filled months in advance, and for a brief moment I thought I had everything figured out. I was planning expansion, vehicles, and hiring—convinced that 2020 would be the breakthrough year.

Then March hit. The lockdowns erased nearly everything overnight. That same week, I fractured my ankle on a job—and still finished the service. It became symbolic of that season: pushing through pain while everything I had built was slipping away. By the end of 2020, business had collapsed, I had lost over 75% of my customer base, and we lost our first home.

In 2021, amid rolling blackouts and rebuilding from scratch, things slowly improved. I stayed committed, adapted, and rebuilt again. Then in 2022, my fiancé and I learned we were expecting our first son—a moment of pure joy. A week later, the world shifted again. Rising costs, fuel spikes, and economic pressure hit hard. Business slowed dramatically, and shortly after our son was born, we lost our second home.

That moment forced a hard realization: some services are wants, others are needs. Window cleaning is valuable—but repairs keep people safe. That insight led to the creation of Classy Works in 2023, a painting and repair company built to serve essential needs. Together, Classy Glass and Classy Works now operate as one ecosystem—balancing care, necessity, and resilience.

Behind the scenes, especially during the hardest years, I invested in learning everything I could: branding, graphic design, website development, SEO, and coding. Every element of our online presence is built by me, from the ground up. Those skills became just as critical as any tool on a job site.

Now, in 2026, Classy Works Inc. has grown into one of the most recognizable and reputable service brands in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. We continue to expand not just in services, but in purpose—helping people solve real problems with care and integrity.

Through the injuries, losses, and uncertainty, I carry no regrets. Every challenge sharpened me. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t come from avoiding hardship—it comes from meeting it fully. This year feels like the future I once imagined in 2020—but stronger, wiser, and built to last.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. The biggest challenges I’ve faced were external events completely outside my control—COVID, economic shifts, rising fuel costs, and global instability—all of which had immediate and severe impacts on a small service-based business.

In 2020, the lockdowns erased the majority of my customer base almost overnight. I later calculated that I lost over 75% of my demographics during that period, and rebuilding from that took years, not months. That same year came with physical setbacks as well, including working through injuries simply to keep things afloat.

Another major challenge has been volatility. I’ve learned firsthand that when the economy tightens—especially when gas prices rise—discretionary services slow down fast. That forced me to rethink my entire business model and not rely on a single stream of work.

On a personal level, balancing business survival with major life events—becoming a father, relocating homes, and carrying responsibility for my family—tested me in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. There were moments where stability felt fragile, but quitting was never an option.

Each challenge forced adaptation. Instead of breaking me, those moments reshaped how I operate, how I diversify services, and how I plan for long-term resilience rather than short-term wins.

We’ve been impressed with Classy Works Inc, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Classy Works Inc is a residential and exterior services company built around reliability, adaptability, and long-term trust. We specialize in painting, repairs, home maintenance, exterior care, and complementary services that homeowners actually need—especially during uncertain times.

What sets us apart is that we didn’t grow from a template; we grew from experience. Classy Works exists alongside Classy Glass as part of a larger ecosystem—one focused on both want and need. While Classy Glass handles exterior care and presentation, Classy Works focuses on structural, functional, and essential services that keep homes safe, livable, and maintained. Together, they allow us to serve clients more completely and consistently.

We’re known for showing up when others don’t, for solving problems instead of upselling, and for treating every project—large or small—with the same level of care. Much of our growth has come through word of mouth, repeat clients, and trust built over time rather than shortcuts or volume-based work.

Behind the scenes, the brand is fully owner-built. From service systems to branding, websites, and digital presence, everything is designed in-house. That hands-on approach carries into the field as well—every service is informed by real-world experience, not theory.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the range of services we offer, but the resilience of the company itself. Classy Works Inc was built to endure change, adapt to real-world conditions, and continue serving people when they need it most. At its core, the brand is about doing honest work, building lasting relationships, and growing with the communities we serve.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I tend to gravitate toward books and ideas that challenge how we understand reality, discipline, and human potential. I’ve read extensively through Stephen Hawking’s work, especially A Brief History of Time, The Theory of Everything, and The Grand Design, which shaped how I think about the universe, time, and structure.

On the mindset and discipline side, Think and Grow Rich (the original 1929 philosophy) and the Rich Dad Poor Dad series were influential early on—not as instructions to chase money, but as frameworks for understanding value, independence, and responsibility.

I’m also drawn to philosophy and foundational thinking. Ethics by Baruch Spinoza, On the Nature of Things by Lucretius, and Isaac Newton’s New Physics by Dr. Gordon Brittan helped shape how I think about order, cause and effect, and natural law. Quantum Psychology by Isaac Betanzos further expanded my interest in perception, consciousness, and how belief systems influence action.

Overall, I’m inspired by material that blends science, philosophy, and discipline—ideas that encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of both the universe and ourselves.
