Meet Seyi Salaam of Elim Homes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Seyi Salaam.

Seyi Salaam

Seyi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my real estate journey in 2018, wholesaling houses for about 2 years, which helped me build up some capital and later transitioned into the construction side of the business. I started rehabbing a houses and pivoted to new construction projects. I’ve always had a huge interest in architecture and designs within the real estate space. I could remember always watching HGTV growing up and now actually building homes in my local area and seeing everything come together is truly surreal and a blessing.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As they say, “Nothing good comes easy.” No, the journey wasn’t easy especially stepping into new territory. When I got into real estate, I basically had to everything I know today by doing my research and fail forward. It’s one of those things where you learn as you go and implement corrective measures on the next endeavor. Simple things like dealing with the city for permits and approvals is an easy obstacle that can delay your project 1-2 months in a blink of an eye. So really understanding how your city works and their processes, will save you a lot of time and headache.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I founded and established my company in 2020. Elim /Ee-Leem/ – A place of peace and rest for the Israelites when fleeing Egypt. Referenced in the bible.

At Elim Homes, each real estate project is a piece of art. Our mission is to continuously craft spaces that embody luxury, functionality, and style. Whether it’s a modern traditional home or a luxurious mansion, we are equipped to build your place of peace. We pride ourselves in providing high quality service, innovative, inspire, and foster relationships with all of our clients and partners.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is subjective to each individual. Most times our greatest accomplishments stem from a mistake or failure in a multitude of things that tends to drive us to the pinnacle of success. For me, success is about the impact you make in people’s live & embracing failures as much as you do wins. I don’t dwell on wins too long. But rather harp on my shortcomings to understand why I failed and how can I become better. I’m always looking to become better and welcome taking on new challenges.
