Today we’d like to introduce you to Shane Weisberg.
Hi Shane, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have been a matchmaker since 1991, before the internet, dating sites, and apps. I started my matchmaking career in Dallas 34 years ago. I have worked in Oklahoma, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, Vancouver BC, Washington, California, Colorado, and Wisconsin. I have also owned my own matchmaking companies. Currently, I work with LUMA Luxury Matchmaking, based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Mostly, matchmaking has been a smooth road. There have been some hickups along the way: the internet and online matchmaking sites were scary for some in the “bricks and mortar” matchmaking space; September 11, 2001; economy troubles in 2008, Covid. During some of the worst times, singles realize they are alone…that havning a partner makes the good times and bad times better…that there is no one to tell their story if they do not have a spouse or children.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
LUMA Luxury Matchmaking is one of, or the, top matchmaking firms in the US and world. I interview prospective clients and decide if LUMA should offer them an opportunity to work with us based on their preferences and how successful we believe we can be with them. LUMA had an 89% success rate in 2024. We are proud of our success rate, but we also want to protect it by making sure (to the best of our ability) that we are working with people who are open and realistic about who they are looking for. I am most proud of my track record of happily coupling singles who have reached out for help, guidance, and assistance in the achievement of their relatinship goals. We provide screened and vetted matches and ongoing feedback to help our clients find forever relationships. LUMA is quality over quantity.
