Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaniyah Hunt.
Shaniyah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am seven years of age and I am the SHEO of Speechless Queen Apparel.
My brand is to focus on bringing awareness to young girls all over the world with disabilities, and to let them know that they have the Ability to overcome their DisAbility!
My story begins with when I was diagnosed with hearing loss at the age of four, which became a critical part of my social, emotional, and cognitive development. My mom was deeply concerned because all she ever wanted was the best for me.
That was not the end of the road for me. One day we created a vision board with all the things that I loved and of course FASHION was my favorite!
My mom had a talk with me about creating a statement T-shirt line to bring awareness to young girls with disabilities, and that’s when I jumped into something and anything and finding my way to what I wanted to do!
That’s when I created my first collection of “SHE CAN” statement tees! I hope I inspire you to become apart of the movement! 💚💜💙💛❤

My second-grade year was my roughest. This is the year when my fellow classmates decided to “bully” me for my slurred speech. I would go home and cry to my mom and tell her how I did not want to go to school! Of course, my mom did everything to make sure that I felt protected by giving me her UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! She will remind me everyday to look myself in the mirror and say “SHE CAN SHE WILL JUST WATCH”! This movement is going to save and protect other girls around the world and show them if she can so can I!
The Pandemic success: This quarantine and COVID-19 pandemic has been so rough for so many of us in so many ways. However, me and my mom decided to make an All-Natural Hand Sanitizer since everyone was basically living on hand sanitizer and prayer! It was a huge success and it really helped us bring our SHE CAN movement alive! We have had so many supporters and this is just the beginning!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course not! When I was about to launch my T-shirt business, COVID 19 hits and the company that was going to originally print our shirts were no longer offering services during the pandemic, so we had to search and find another company and it was hectic! Also, when it came to making Hand Sanitizer it was hard finding alcohol! But we kept our faith and everything worked out for our good!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I am still a growing child, but I would say this is my favorite memory of my mommy helping me start my own business to help bring awareness to girls just like me and let them know that they can do anything despite their disabilities!
