Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Doss.
Shannon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
How I got started in the embroidery industry is I worked for a company that specialized in embroidery for 7 years and decided to start a business out of what I learned. I was on the way to starting Fresh Custom Embroidery and got fired from my 9-5 four days prior to starting the business. 7 months later I have surpassed half of my yearly salary as a manager and I am still elevating my game and looking to expand and build relationships with other brands and companies throughout the DFW and more!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I can honestly say that starting the business took a lot, effort, belief, support, and plenty more to make it happen and it started off great and has been pretty consistent. At one point I thought one month would be my best month but turned out to be the lowest sales month. I would say some challenges I faced were finding the right team, marketing, time management, finding the best company to ship with, and many more but I understand the challenges will always be there you just have to be ready to adjust.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I offer embroidery in many different ways, to many different people. I’ve partnered with many industries, fashion/art/film/food, and more. I do embroidery to fabric/material and I also make patches as well. I am known for being a risk-taker and confident in taking on challenges. The way I stand out from others is by simply exceeding the customers expectations. Also, by giving my honest opinion and being the expert in this field, and giving my best advice to what will turn the customers dream into a reality.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
