Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Prager.
Shannon, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 2008, I left my 15-year marketing career in B2B tech marketing and branched out on my own as a demand generation consultant specialized in high-growth B2B tech companies. Fast forward to 2012, the business was growing through referrals alone, and I formalized Leadit Marketing as a company.
Fast forward to today, we’ve learned, we’ve grown and we’ve specialized Leadit Marketing. Today, we pride ourselves in being a different kind of marketing agency in more ways than one!
Throughout our 25 years of B2B marketing and B2B demand generation experience, we’ve observed our clients across all industries facing the same marketing problems. B2B demand generation requires a real understanding of buyers and markets. A blanket approach to a B2B demand generation strategy simply doesn’t work out for anyone.
We built Leadit Marketing to solve that exact problem. We build the right team, with the right expertise for each engagement. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being a working mother is a challenge in itself. The constant balance of being a good mother and a good leader is something I have to prioritize daily.
I’ve spent the last year reflecting on my personal journey of what got me here today and why some of the struggles are so hard. Being raised by an entrepreneur, I often felt like I came second to my mom’s businesses. I struggled with that as I decided to pursue my own business venture but promised myself I could do it differently.
It turns out doing it different is not that easy. And I now have a whole new respect for what my own mother went through and what it means to be an entrepreneur mother.
I also realized my work needed to have more purpose than just the job itself. While searching for something bigger and greater I realized how gratifying it was to mentor young women. I remembered how important that mentorship was for me and the impact that it had on my entire career.
Yes, there are struggles. There are struggles every day. And my journey is about fighting those struggles head on because I can beat them.
