Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanta Maxey.
Shanta, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a certified professional braider/ freelance makeup artist. I started out braiding my families’ hair and few ladies from the church at my house. My clientele had gotten bigger, so went into a salon paying both rent. I’m so thankful for my clients they are more than clients they have become family. Know I’m in a suite inside of King Salon in Cedar Hill TX.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This ride hasn’t been smooth I did have some struggles, but when you set your goals so high you should know that their will come some challenges. You have to adjust somethings in your life when you are accustom with working at home to working outside the home.

I am the owner of LoveableCurves Styles. I am a professional braider/ freelance makeup artist. I specialize in crochet braids, box braids, feedin braids, and makeup. I am really known for my crochet braids styles. I am most proud of creativity that God gave me. Anybody can do crochet braids, but when you do it with love, and really love what you do that sets you apart from the rest. I thank God everyday for this gift, and talent that he has given me.
What were you like growing up?
I was out going and bubbly when I was younger. I have always spoke my mind and loving to others.
