ShantaQuilette, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always had a genuine compassion for inspiring and empowering women, as a wife and mother working a full-time job and in graduate school, I’ve always been empowered to live a full balanced life. I wanted to revolutionize the way society views work and family, Letting the world know that higher education, motherhood, and career are mutually exclusive. I created Style Follows Her to inspire and empower women to reach their full potential. It encourages women to explore who they are inside and out by embracing the traditional roles of womanhood and contemporary ideas. Once I found my passion, I knew my purpose. My goal is to inspire the modern-day woman to take charge of her career, higher education, create power friendships and relationships, enjoying marriage and motherhood, curate her own style, decorate her home, cooking, and entertain a crowd. I know my purpose and I’m going to walk in it until I die.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course, not, there have been days where I’ve thought, is it really worth it? I’ve been consumed with doubt on several occasions, However, once I leaned on the Lord, he revealed my purpose and now I know my true passion. Managing a household of 5 and working full-time isn’t easy at all and takes a lot of patience and prayer. I thank God, every day for my supportive husband who pushes me constantly to be great and helps me manage my busy life. Being multi-talented can be challenging, it’s hard to decide at times where to direct my energy, but I think that’s the indecisive Libra in me.

Style Follow Her encourages women to live up to their fullest potential through beauty, fashion, and lifestyle. I’m multi-talented, my skill set is astonishing when it comes to fashion, beauty, and home, and did I mention I have an MBA in Forensic Accounting. Pretty darn impressive to say the least. My Blog is the one stop shop for life, it serves to inspire, encourage and empower.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing, you live and you learn. My mistakes made me into the woman I am today.
