Meet Shante’ Griffen of Bre’s Unique Boutique in Allen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shante’ Griffen.

Shante’, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a single mother of two beautiful children and I have always wanted to have my own business, and I also wanted to be able to leave something for my children that they could grow into different avenues of fashion. I had a really great friend call me telling me about an opportunity that I could have my own business from home. So I took some time to do some research and went ahead and decided to start my business. I knew how much I loved handbags and that was a great way for me to do something I loved as well as give women a place to shop for cute and trendy handbags at a reasonable cost.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was rough getting started due to the pandemic. Because of the long wait time for shipping, it would cause the customers to get a little frustrated. But I always made sure to keep my customers updated on the status of their items and let them know that I truly understand their frustration.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Bre’s Unique Boutique is a small company, dear to my heart. My boutique offers handbags along with cute and sassy fashions. I am known for my handbags because my handbags are very different and have never been seen here in Texas. I am very proud all the time to see the amount of people that just view my website. I know a lot of people talk about sales, but for me getting my business out into the world and people seeing the amazing products I have to offer will generate sales. I think what sets me apart is that I offer handbags that other people don’t really sell. I pick handbags that stand out and that are a little different and haven’t been seen here in Texas.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was an only child. I was very talkative and outgoing. I would talk so much my grandmother would ask me if I was tired and I would tell her I couldn’t breathe if I wasn’t talking. I loved to be around people and take care care of them and make them laugh. When I was younger, I really enjoyed taking care of my baby dolls and I always said that when I got older, I would have tons of kids and I would make sure that they were all loved and taken care of. Well, I was only blessed with two kids but they are my heart and my soul.
