Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaquille Anderson.
Shaquille, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m Shaquille Anderson, a native of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Growing up, I moved around to different cities and stated pretty often. What this taught me to do is learn to adapt to different environments and people at an early age and learn to lead within my family. I ended my last three years at Muskogee High School, and after graduating, I received a scholarship to attend Langston University. Being one of the first members in my family to attend college, I was both excited and also clueless about what it would take to succeed at a university but I was determined to do well.
During my years at Langston, I was inspired by seeing men on campus leading. I knew that I wanted to get involved and had made up my mind that I would do just that. While being there, I had an amazing opportunity to serve the student body each year in several capacities. Servant leadership definitely ranks amongst the most important lessons I learned in my time there. Langston University changed my life and I am forever indebted to that experience.
Coming out of school, like most people, I had debt. My scholarship opportunities relieved some of it but I finished up with around $20,000. Through working alongside my best friend, I was able to pay this debt off ten months after graduating. This and the other financial concepts I learned sent me on a surge to want to educate and help others become financially literate as well. This ultimately leads me to obtain my financial licenses and work toward building an agency of my own.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has definitely had some craters along the way but it’s been worth it. I believe everyone’s journey will include some hardship but through that comes the true appreciation for the things that we have. Growing up in a single-parent household and never having a direct example of how to navigate school, careers, or any of the things you take on as a young adult left me having to figure it out from a head bumping approach. Well, the concept of learning about money was definitely not exempt. The main obstacle I’ve had to continuously overcome within myself and others is the way that we think about money. Often times, it’s of a mindset that isn’t focused on building wealth for the future. This sometimes stops people from taking certain steps that will put them in a better predicament in the long haul. My job as a professional includes being able to bring enough value that it makes some of these decisions easier for people to make.

We specialize in term life insurance, investments and debt elimination and can also assist with mortgage loans, a will, legal services, home and auto insurance, home security system and identity theft. I’m most proud that we are committed to doing what’s right 100% of the time—always working in the best interest of our clients. My ability to bring on agents part-time is by far one of the most unique abilities in this industry.

The first people that come to mind are my family. They have always believed I was going to walk down a path that would lead me toward some success before I could see it for myself. In addition to them, everyone I have met and connected with since being 18 has played special roles in my life. Far too many people to name but I am forever grateful for the support system I have built.
