Meet Sharon Gore of Sharon Gore Salon in Plano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Gore.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Being a stylist and business owner was always my dream. Growing up, my grandmother had a small salon in her home and I loved watching her work and playing with her tools. I have been fortunate enough to have a career that I love for the past 26 years. My career as a hairdresser started in Nashville where I opened my salon Gore Studios Hair Design. I found out shortly after opening that my then husband’s job would be relocating us to Dallas. I was up for the adventure! After moving to Plano in 1998, I was lucky enough to start over as the area was rapidly growing, and I’ve been here ever since!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was a little intimidating starting over in Dallas after moving from a smaller town. Frisco was just being developed so it was the perfect area to start rebuilding. initially I had little to no clientele, but the stars were aligned and it was the perfect opportunity for me.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Sharon Gore Salon story. Tell us more about the business.
Sharon Gore Salon has been a labor of love. I am always learning and trying to expand my services and skills. I specialize in free form cutting techniques because I think cutting is truly an art. Multi-dimensional color is one of my favorite ways to be creative. I custom blend all of my color formulas and love the freedom of balayage (hair painting). Another service I think every woman needs is Brazilian Blowouts. I am a certified Brazilian Blowout specialist and this service makes such a huge difference in the smoothness and shine of the hair.

I have had the honor of training in Beverly Hills with some of the top leaders in the industry, and trained with Redken, Rusk, Joico among others.

I would have to say I am most proud of my relationship with my clients. I have been blessed to have so many amazing people in my life and that I not only consider then clients, but friends.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Wow!! I have been so lucky. Things happen for a reason, and I truly believe I’ve managed to be in the right places at the right time.
