Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawn Miller.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I knew from an early age that I was interested in health & wellness. Anytime my mother would take me to the grocery store I would b-line right to the magazine section to look at all the bodybuilding magazine. It always fascinated me how a person could change their body like that. After receiving my training degree at the Cooper Institute in Dallas, TX in early 2003 I began my fitness journey at a local big box gym. I’ll just keep there name private so not to give them free marketing! 😊
After working there for several months I decided to branch out on my own. I initially started training my clients at local parks, and apartment gyms. After a couple years I was able to build up enough clientele to open our first location in Farmers Branch. As our name and business began to grow we were able to open the 2nd facility near downtown Dallas. This facility we eventually closed down and relocated to North Dallas where we currently operate our business. It has certainly been a wild ride but I wouldn’t change it for the World.
We have such wonderful and loyal clients that are business has certainly flourished over the last few years. We also revamped our services over the years to include a beauty side. Offering a wide range of services like facials, microdermabrasion, teething whitening, and massage therapy. This has placed our business into overdrive. Certainly exciting times at Elite Pro Wellness Health & Beauty Center.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have certainly had our struggles over the years. What small business doesn’t experience growing pains. Our business model was certainly different than other other fitness businesses out there. We were essentially trying to run a 100% private facility where there was no more than 1 client in the facility at a time. (Unless it was a group fitness class). This had its pros and cons.
The clients were able to workout without feeling judged by others around them, and the privacy allowed us to be at a certain price point. The downside was we had to constantly have clients back to back to ensure we were profitable. We didn’t offer memberships so the revenue from Personal Training was crucial! After fine-tuning our business model we are certainly at a great place.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Elite Pro Wellness Health &Beauty Center story. Tell us more about the business.
You pride ourselves in being Dallas Premier Private Workout Facility. Allowing our clients to work out in a judgment-free environment at all times. I wear man hats at my business, but I mainly focus on the Personal Training side. I’m a Master Personal Trainer @ Elite Pro Wellness.
I specialize in adult wellness, children fitness, and athletic performance. I’m so proud of the outpouring of love and loyalty our clients have shown over the years. The best compliment we can receive as a business is when our clients send family and friends to Elite Pro Wellness. This shows that they truly believe and trust in what we are doing at our business.
Our attention to detail and commitment to our client is what sets us apart. As well as being a 100% private facility. Each and every client can workout in a judgment-free environment, allowing them to focus on their health & wellness goals with no worries.
