Meet Sheena Allen of Dallas Dental Arts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheena Allen.

Sheena, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I joined the Army to pay for my dental school. Following dental school, I realized that I wanted to specialize in prosthodontics, so I continued my education for another three years. I accepted an Army scholarship that paid for all of my dental training and education. As a result, I was required to work for the Army as a prosthodontist following completion. The Army is what brought me to Texas. I was stationed at Fort Hood, when I decided to leave the military.

I purchased Dallas Dental Arts in 2016, because it was the ideal private practice for a specialist like myself. At Dallas Dental Arts, we practice a team approach to dentistry, offering most specialty services in the office.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When I first purchased my business, I was informed that the first few years would be similar to riding a roller coaster – meaning there would be ups and downs. That is the best way to describe this past year. Overall, the transition has been incredible thanks to my amazing staff and patients. There are many moments when I think, what did I get myself into? The biggest issue has been updating the office to make sure Dallas Dental Arts is offering the most up-to-date treatment options. That means investing in new equipment, replacing old and outdated computer systems, and going to a 100% digital workflow.

Please tell us about Dallas Dental Arts.
Dallas Dental Arts is a group specialty dental office, which means when a patient visits our office, they will ALWAYS be seeing a dental specialist. We offer prosthodontics (cosmetic dentistry, crowns, veneers, bonding, etc.), periodontics (dental implants, gum grafts, gum lifts), and endodontics (root canals) all in one location. I am a board-certified prosthodontist specializing in smile makeovers. From cosmetic dentistry to dental implants, customizing smiles to fit your needs is my specialty.

We also offer in-office sedation dentistry and cater to anxious and nervous patients. With unique touches, like aromatherapy, warm blankets and lavender towels, we strive to offer a customized dental experience to fit our patients’ needs.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would do nothing differently! My motto in life is to never look back. Everything happens for a reason. I firmly believe that Dallas Dental Arts is exactly where I am supposed to be. Every trial and tribulation has only made my business stronger and I look forward to what our future holds in Dallas.
