Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelby Moore and Darling Hernandez.
Shelby and Darling, please share your story with us.
We have been friends for years and have often walked alongside one another through different seasons of life. When Refined & Redeemed first began, we were both in seasons of incredible change and were able to direct one another back to our primary focus, which was to glorify God in all we do. This accountability is where Refined & Redeemed gleaned its roots, and we realized that we have always had a similar desire to reach others and influence them in a positive way. This ministry has allowed us to reach girls and young women by building a community that is able to support them through a variety of different seasons of life. While our two founders are in their early twenties, we have writers that vary in life stages that have partnered alongside us to reach a broader audience of women. We have been in a constant season of blessing as more people join our community and have become connected with one another through mutual spiritual encouragement.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Refined & Redeemed has been a roller-coaster of tremendous highs and the occasional low. We are able to truthfully say that it hasn’t always been a smooth road as we struggle with doubt, juggling finances, and insecurities. However, we have been able to constantly reassure each other and remind one another that “where there’s a will, there’s a way” and that God is able to provide for our needs. Those He calls, He equips. So far we have seen Him do abundantly more than we could have ever imagined for this ministry and He has far exceeded our expectations with blessings.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Refined & Redeemed – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our mission statement is the heartbeat behind everything we do and it serves as the guiding light of our purpose, “To redefine our strength, self-worth, image, joy, purpose, and identity. Knowing that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by our Heavenly Father.” We have a strong desire to see young women’s lives be transformed by the power of Christ. Our desire is to see broken lives changed and for women to know they are loved, wanted and pursued by their Creator. We seek to build a community where girls and women from all seasons of life are able to find refuge and encouragement even when life seems to throw a curve-ball their way. We want to empower women to see themselves as God sees them, cherished. Refined & Redeemed is unique due to the collection of variety compiled by willing volunteers who wholeheartedly devote themselves to reaching others with the gifts they have been given whether it be their writing, graphic designs, or finances.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our hope is to continue to gain a presence among the community as we continue to reach out to young women and girls with this ministry. We are always looking for more women who are able to devote themselves to joining our team, and adding more team members is definitely a process we are looking forward to. One of our biggest dreams at the moment is to get involved with more speaking arrangements so we can share our story with even more women who are in need of hearing the Gospel.
