Meet Shelly Matityahu of Tabit Technologies in Plano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelly Matityahu.

Shelly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My family is originally from Israel. My parents moved to the states just a few years before I was born, so my father could get his Doctorate and become a Chiropractor. I was born and raised in the Dallas area and although I travel quite a bit, I haven’t thought about moving outside of here. I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in December 2014, with a psychology and criminology degree. From there, I became a Compliance Analyst at a Finance Servicing Business, specializing in Data Analytics. An opportunity with a Software company moving from Israel fell on my lap towards the end of 2018, and I’ve been here ever since. The company specializes in Mobile POS systems for Restaurants, and we’re taking off running – with Dallas being on the forefront of our US market. In addition, I am the co-director for the Dallas Sidekicks Dancers – and assist in running their game day operations.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The end of my tenure at my prior position was a difficult time for me. I wasn’t happy with where I was, what I was doing, or really – myself. I, along with the people around me, noticed a change in my personality and my demeanor and I realized something had to change. I started focusing more on my physical and mental health – I lost 25 pounds through exercise and diet, I took a few months off to travel the world and visit some of my favorite places – some new and some repeats – and then I landed on this incredible opportunity that will shake the restaurant industry here in town. I couldn’t be more thankful for my incredible support system along the way – without my family and closest friends, I’m not sure where I’d be.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Tabit Technologies – what should we know?
Tabit is an Israeli-based company with offices in the US. Being that Israel is widely known as the “Startup Nation” – it was no surprise to me that such innovative and cutting-edge technology like ours came out of that small country.

Tabit is a restaurant point of sale and tableside ordering system that streamlines restaurant operations and extends sales opportunities. Our 360-degree integrated ecosystem connects every aspect of the customer experience: from guest management system, customer ordering, kitchen productivity through tableside payment. Bringing efficiencies to every interaction point.

As a one of the Customer Success Managers in our Dallas office, I am in charge of engaging in all aspects of system deployments, training, best-practice coaching, and support for our restaurant customers. As an example, I develop a comprehensive understanding of our solutions suite, collaborate with the sales and product teams to ensure flawless execution of the implementation process, and know when new ideas and customer needs have to be rolled up to our executive management. In addition, I’ve been taking on a little bit of our social media presence. We even use the hashtag that I just happened to blurt out one day – and it’s become a phenomenon in all of our global markets.

I’m proud of being part of the “core-team” that is bringing this innovative solution to the US market. Coming from the industry, I’ve always been passionate about hospitality and restaurants – so this isn’t just a “job” for me. I truly believe in the value that our solutions are and will be bringing to this industry for years to come. From a technology standpoint, this industry has been yearning and ready for something new, and I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being a self-starter. Embracing change and out-of-the-box thinking. Being that I’m in front of customers all day, I have to be a people-person!
