Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelsea Sanchez and Viviana Dean.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We met when we had our own individual businesses. Viviana had her own salon suite doing hair and I had my own doing eyelash extensions. As soon as we met, we became instant besties.
Viviana: I knew when I met her we would be best friends….. Even though she didn’t know it yet haha.
Fast forward a few months, we decided to join forces and be official “Work Wives”. Within a couple years of hard work and cross promoting one another, our business grew substantially to the point to where we were having to turn away potential clients. We knew we had a special culture of making people feel beautiful and empowering them with positivity and humor, so we decided to expand in the Summer of 2016.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Although we had so much fun designing and renovating our own salon, it was overwhelming at times because we had the responsibility of taking care of our current clients to help fund our new endeavor.
Viviana: There were a lot of trips to Lowes that’s for sure and we were on a first name basis at the local Home Depot.
Shelsea: Surprisingly through all the stresses and fears of opening a new business, we became closer knowing that we weren’t in this alone.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Peachy Keen Studio – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
At our salon we specialize in eyelash extensions and hair services.
Shelsea: Clients have called Viviana “Hair Jesus” because of her specialty in Balayage and corrective color.
Viviana: As far as eyelash extensions go, the girls keep the beautiful women of Dallas fluffy and bushy “The only time bushy is good!” as Shelsea always says haha.
We are a cruelty free salon – the products we use on our clients and promote are all cruelty free. We educate and encourage our clients to make ethically conscious purchases in their day to day lives. True beauty is cruelty free.
We have a program called “Wands for Wildlife” where we recycle our mascara wands and donate them to the Wildlife Apalachian Refuge where they repurpose them and use it to clean their rescued animals.
We teach seasonal makeup classes to empower our clients to do their own makeup the way a professional would.
Our mission statement at Peachy Keen Studio: We empower our clients to feel beautiful from the inside-out, by providing an ethically conscious service in a fun girl boss community.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We have a lot of ideas up our sleeves on growing the Peachy Keen community and it looks like you’ll have to follow our Peachy Keen Instagram (@peachykeenstudio) to follow along on our journey.
