Meet Sheridan Wendt of Advantage Labs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheridan Wendt.

Hi Sheridan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been drawn to technology and building things for as long as I can remember. Even in elementary school I gravitated toward computers, figuring out how use them, experimenting, and creating. That curiosity stayed with me and ultimately shaped the direction of my career.

I went on to serve in the US Navy, where I had the opportunity to work on high impact technical initiatives in demanding environments. Those experiences taught me discipline, adaptability, and how critical reliable systems are when the stakes are high. After my military service, I transitioned into the private sector, taking on larger scopes at smaller companies before being recruited by JPMorgan Chase to build hyperscale data centers.

Across each stage of my career, a common thread emerged: I enjoyed solving complex problems, building scalable systems, and translating technical possibility into business value. That realization led me to start Advantage Labs (https://AdvantageLabs.ai). I founded Advantage Labs to help organizations navigate innovation more practically by integrating intelligent systems, optimizing workflows, and turning emerging technology into real operational advantage. Now we are heavily focused on our Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) offering, implementing cutting edge strategies on behalf of our clients.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, particularly in the early stages of building Advantage Labs. One of the biggest challenges was developing clarity around our offers and identifying exactly who we serve best. That required real world iteration, testing assumptions, and learning directly from the market. Many of our solutions actually emerged from our own operational needs. As we worked to scale efficiently, we built systems powered by AI and agentic workflows to extend capacity, streamline execution, and improve decision making. Over time, those internally developed capabilities evolved into the services and strategies we now deliver to clients.

We also focused on growing awareness in practical, cost effective ways. This led to launching our podcast, Answer Engines (http://podcast.advantagelabs.ai), where we educate listeners on Answer Engine Optimization and share how organizations are applying AI and agentic workflows in real business environments. The process has involved constant learning and adaptation, but it reinforced our commitment to innovation and execution. Those challenges ultimately sharpened our direction and continue to shape how we help companies navigate an increasingly intelligent technology landscape.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Advantage Labs helps organizations position themselves for visibility and authority in an AI mediated digital world. While we work broadly across intelligent automation and agentic workflows, our core specialization is implementation of Answer Engine Optimization through our proprietary Advantage Engine™ system. This work focuses on helping brands become the recommended answer across AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Perplexity. Through hands on deployment, we engineer the infrastructure behind AI answer selection by structuring content, strengthening entity authority, and aligning retrieval pathways so that AI systems consistently recognize and surface our clients’ answers.

This approach differs fundamentally from traditional SEO. Rather than optimizing for rankings or traffic, we optimize for AI selection and authority reinforcement. Our implementations include designing Answer Graph Architecture™, deploying Retrieval Optimized Answer Units, and establishing Authority Flywheel strategies that compound trust signals over time. All of this aligns with the AI Findability Framework to ensure visibility is strategic, measurable, and machine readable. I’m most proud that this work reflects our brand philosophy of execution over theory. Many of these frameworks were developed while solving our own scalability and visibility challenges, and today they allow us to help forward thinking organizations establish durable authority in environments where AI increasingly mediates discovery, decision making, and trust.

What does success mean to you?
I define success by the outcomes we create for our clients. It’s about delivering results that genuinely surprise them in a positive way and produce measurable value for their business. Whether that’s increased visibility across AI platforms, stronger authority signals, or operational efficiency gained through intelligent systems, success means our work translates into tangible advantage rather than abstract promises.

At Advantage Labs, we focus on execution and impact. When clients see solutions we’ve implemented become embedded into their growth, decision making, or competitive positioning, that’s when we know we’ve succeeded. Ultimately, success isn’t about deploying technology for its own sake, it’s about enabling organizations to operate smarter, move faster, and realize opportunities they didn’t previously see as achievable.
