Today we’d like to introduce you to Shicole Brown.
Shicole, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I first wanted to start modeling, looking at all the Tyra banks shows (Americas Next Top Model). I started at the age of 13, starting with different gigs, but the gigs that I was doing ending up being scams. So I ended up stopping because my mother couldn’t afford it. So at the age of 21, I started back working with a new photographer named Aden. He helped me with my poses as well as my connection with the camera. I was a freelance model at the time. I started posting my pics on social media so someone could see me. Bout time I turned 25, I ended up signing with Mkovah Magazine and being published multiple times. I admit it was a challenge until this day it still is. I am now 29 and a mother of three beautiful children that I Love dearly. I am a single parent and they push me every day to be a better mother, woman and model. I am now working with 42 model management (Lenny Wheeler) thanks to my good friend and also great photographer Carlos Vincent Photography.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road it was hard at first I’ve had to go through therapy because I was a victim of rape and domestic abuse I had to work on things for me to get better. I didn’t have a job for a while, so I had to do something. I ended up being an entertainer or as others call it stripper, it was the hardest job I ever had to do, but I did it. It help invest in my modeling career, pushing me to where I am now.
Please tell us about your work.
I am an aspiring fashion model. And what sets me apart from others is that I am phenomenal, strong, optimistic, kind, humble and loving.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love everything about Dallas from the Dallas skyline to our big city and beautiful scenery. Especially the food I Love Dallas food and many restaurants to choose from.
And what I like the least is that Dallas traffic sucks lol…
