Today we’d like to introduce you to Shironica Roberts-Jack.
Shironica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was given the opportunity to start a travel business 13 years ago. I was working in collections but I was not satisfied with my job. I wanted to work from home and a friend introduced me the YTB Travel which has now merged into Surge 365. At first, my family and friends did not support but I did not quit or give in. I spent countless hours prospecting. I spent hours being told no. I spent hours presenting to people that did not want to be a part of this business. However, although there were some that were not up for the challenge, many took the challenge and excelled beyond their own beliefs. I have reached the level of having my own team which is called Team Opulence. We train, equip, and teach people how to travel while making an extra stream of income.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Network Marketing is one of the more challenging businesses to build because it takes GRIT! It takes time and it is not something that is built overnight. It was challenging trying to have the support of your loved ones because you need as much support and encouragement that you can get when starting any business. I quit my 9 to 5 but that did not mean that bills stopped coming. I continued to make a way until my business could make a way for me. I stepped out on Faith May 3rd, 2008 and that was the biggest step I could have taken.
Please tell us about Four Corners Travel and Cruises.
Four Corners Travel and Cruises is a travel business and I a travel business developer. I specialize in helping people develop a business in the travel industry so that they can experience financial freedom while spending more time with their families and themselves. I am proud of the family environment of the business and how it brings multiple entrepreneurs together from different places on the globe to unite as one in travel. I am different from others because I started with the unknown. I had three kids and a husband that was dependent on me and I took the risk. I was not taught finances. I was not taught business. I was not taught to have my own. I just wanted to start a new legacy for my kids and grand-kids to follow. I was willing to lose everything in order to gain what I and my family have today and that’s our legacy!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would have read more books and educated myself so that I could have alleviated some of the speed bumps. However, those speed bumps became part of my learning journey.
