Hi Sierra, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I always knew I was different. Not better, but different. What I wore, other people questioned it. What I wore, other people asked where I got it. What I wore made me feel me. That’s when I knew at a young age fashion was going to be my passion! Then on, I gained the responsibility of dressing my mom at 13 years old! Talk about a different challenge and dynamic, but I nailed it! But most importantly, my mom believed in me. I graduated high school and went straight to parson school of design. Years passed, I finished school and was now on my 3rd fashion job which gave me experience, confidence, and knowledge. It was only a matter of time God was gonna shower me with a blessing with my name on it! Finally, the year 2020 hit, and what turned into the world being on lockdown also turned into the start of my clothing brand, “Balanced.” A brand that brings you grace and attitude. Where we bring you styles of a combination of streetwear and contemporary. From sleepless nights to praying, to meetings, to planning, to hiring, my brand was going to be different, and it did! Come shop with me!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest struggle is simple. I was afraid to start. Afraid as in, I didn’t believe. Afraid as in I doubted myself, my finances, and if I can actually pull it off. It took the year of 2020, the year of us on lock down for me to realize two things; faith and fear cannot coexist, so I needed to fix my relationship with God, like now. Secondly, If I don’t try, how will I ever know. Now let me tell you when I got back on track with God, and he removed my fear and replaced it with faith all things aligned, doubts disappeared, money appeared, and now I have balanced! Don’t be afraid to start, there are resources and communities/people who want to see you win!

Grace; meaning elegance, also I grew up in the church and is a firm believer that my brand wouldn’t exist without God, therefore you will see a side of my contemporary yet graceful styles at my boutique. Secondly attitude, I was born and raised in California, and the streets of Los Angeles is where you can find me. So, what better way to bring in streetwear to my boutique. Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The role that has luck would be my support. God didn’t call us to do life alone hunny! There are people who want to see you win, and that’s exactly who I have in my corner. The amount of support I receive from my friends, my sisters, my baby brother, and my parents! Too promoting, to advertising, to showing up to events, to purchasing to working my booth is so appreciative and admirable. Can’t forget I am also forever grateful for every encounter and customer I met at my shows! I love y’all!
