Simone`, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Hello! I was born and raised here in Dallas. I graduated from Duncanville High School in 2010 and then continued my education, which led to my graduation from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2015. During my years in college, I learned how eager other young adults like myself was. I had to completely transform who I was mentally in order to be able to succeed further in life. My mother suffers from a mental illness so my dad, Larry Waters, raised me alongside his then-wife Tamara. I had a pretty good childhood. I was involved in countless activities and I had a slew of friends. I always knew I wanted to be something great. That something just happens to be an attorney. My passion for law has always been high. Alongside my passion for the law, I LOVED BEAUTY. Anything that enhanced beauty I have either tried or read up about it. My must-have has always been hair. I loved the way hair made me feel. I felt like it has always created “the look” I wanted no matter where I was going. I have tried it all. Long, short, curly, and straight.
Therefore, after marrying my husband and having our oldest son, he encouraged me to start my business. So, in March 2017, I launched “Brilliantly Made Bundles.” Although business started off good, I was reluctant to keep it going especially after having my second son in 2018, but I knew I served a greater purpose for women just like me who needed a hair company that understood everyone isn’t blessed to be rich. Brilliantly Made Bundles is for women who love to look and feel good on a budget. From the wigs to the hair bundles, each product is beautiful. Unlike many others, Brilliantly Made Bundles hair is full, minimum shedding, and has longevity! This is like my third child! I created this business because so many times I put my trust in these big name brands and came out on the short end of the deal. Paying ridiculous prices for subpar hair got old! When I was in high school, I wanted hair that was consistent with my daily activities. When I was in college, I wanted hair that would last me for months and years. When I started working in my career, I wanted hair that would be low maintenance for the early mornings and long days, and if you are looking for hair like that, Brilliantly Made Bundles is it! I am a 27-year-old, African American young Queen, married, with two kids, a full-time career, an inspirational blog (WordsFromAGirlBlog.wordpress.com), and a business. I am the ideal woman. I understand hardships, I understand budgeting, and I understand spending and the importance of longevity in anything I buy. My goal is to create sustainable relationships with my clientele and make them feel gorgeous while doing it! I am a woman of all trades. This is my year to emerge and show women God has their back, but that hair should be BRILLIANTLY MADE!
We are always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Forming my business was not a smooth road. From trying to get proper designs, to getting adequate pricing it has been a long road. Giving all praises to God without him and my husband making my first investment I would not be here today. Sometimes, it’s hard trying to find people to believe in you enough to invest in your dream. I believe mentorship should be much better in Dallas because we have so many young adults like myself that have amazing ideas but no one willing to take a leap of faith to help them. I allowed that to discourage me plenty of times but after realizing, I had to get out my own head and just do what I could, God eventually made a way. My advice is to be open to critiques, do not sell yourself short, and know what you want and how you want whatever your dream is. Invest in yourself first. Fast from the things you splurge on, so you can grow your business further. Use your family as your first go to’s. Have them tell you from a consumer side what you are lacking or what you are packing. Sow into your business. Pray daily for your business. Stay up to date on the new trends and watch PLENTY of FREE YouTube videos on the marketing of your business. Also, place yourself around like-minded people. Make notes on the way they handle particular issues, take notes of the way the announce things; invest yourself in their businesses as well because word of mouth is powerful! Be authentic in your brand. Doing all of this can help set you aside from many others.

Brilliantly Made Bundles is an affordable hair extension company for women/men all around the world. We have wigs, closures, frontals, and bundles. I personally love the body wave hair because it holds the body wave texture through hair coloring, washes, and straightening. My clientele loves getting the 24inch in body wave and the 14 inches as well. We also have an Instagram page @BrilliantlyMadeBundles, which displays our clienteles’ selfies, our own pictures, and videos to show just how beautiful our hair is. I think what sets aside Brilliantly Made Bundles from any other hair company around is our prices and customer service. The hair is AMAZING!!! Can I say it again? THE HAIR IS AMAZING! I have personally worn this hair for nine years and I have never had any issues. The shedding is very minimum and the hair takes wonderfully to coloring. Beyond this being my company, I love this hair that much!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plan is to eventually have clientele from different countries and have sponsored women empowerment conferences that bring women of all lifestyles together for a great cause.
