Meet Sophia Nguyen of Sophia’s Nail Salon in University Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia Nguyen.

Sophia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 1993, I moved from San Jose, California to Dallas, Texas. I began working in a nail salon for three years on Lover’s Lane. Eventually, I wanted to begin my own journey. I started off renting a small, yet cozy station in Highland Park shopping center (Oak Lawn) for a few years. Soon, I joined Jean Phillippe Salon where I worked in my own station, once again, for ten years. Finally, I decided to open my very own nail salon which I’ve owned for almost thirteen years now. Even after years of moving around, I continued to stay on Lover’s Lane. Fortunately, I’ve had such loyal employees and clients who have supported me throughout my journey.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Because of my loyal workers, clients, and communities, as well as my supporting family, I had barely any struggles. Of course, there were obstacles along the way, but the support of others helped me look past those hard times.

Sophia’s Nail Salon – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
In my business, we do our best to provide our customers with optimal satisfaction by using top of line quality products and assure our customers with a good service. I specialize in giving customers a natural, yet sophisticated and elegant manicure that is long-lasting and non-toxic. We own pedicure chairs with basic basin sinks without jets that allow clients to relax. Because of my company’s success from its wonderful workers and clients, I am proud of my business.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment of my career has been the experience of owning such a successful business.
