So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My father is a homeopathic physician in India and I saw many cures right in front of my eyes in his home office as a child. One of them was the treatment of my cousin. My cousin was 18 months old at that time and she was diagnosed with cholera by a conventional doctor and was treated. She did not respond to treatment and continued to deteriorate. After treating her for 24 hours, they gave up on her and told her parents to take her home as there nothing more they could do for her. My aunt and uncle brought her to my house in the middle of a rainy night clutching a blue baby with putrid odor on her. When I saw that baby, I didn’t have much hope. My dad started homeopathic treatment on her and I was sitting with my mom feeding her an electrolyte solution. As dawn was closing in, the baby stopped vomiting and started crying. She was so limp to even cry when she came. Her diarrhea stopped shortly after and she started to have an appetite. Color returned to her sunken cheeks. She started being active again. That moment changed my life forever.
I wanted to help people all around the world through this great system of medicine called “Homeopathy”. And there was no turning back for me. Despite the absence of awareness even about Homeopathy as another system of medicine in the US 14 years ago, I worked tirelessly in creating awareness and educating the community on safe, effective and natural solutions to bring wellness.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road.
Most people don’t know there are alternatives to conventional medicine. The need to create awareness about Homeopathy and prove its efficacy was a necessity, to establish a practice and become successful. Very few states have Homeopathic and alternative medical boards to regulate and certify the practitioners which makes it harder to be a licensed practitioner.
Insurance does not cover homeopathic treatment hence making it unaffordable for many people on top of the premium they pay for their insurance even if they wanted to seek homeopathic treatment.
Homeopathic physicians despite going through rigorous medical training are not recognized as physicians and are treated as witch doctors. Many conventional doctors tell their patients that they shouldn’t be treated by alternative practitioners and they would be wasting their money going to them.

Hygieia Homeopathic Clinic was established in August 2016. We practice Homeopathy, herbs and Varmalogy. We specialize in family medicine. We treat children and adults for ADHD, autism, allergies – environmental and food, asthma, anxiety disorder, arthritis, autoimmune disorders, digestive disorders (like Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, acid reflux, hemorrhoids, chronic constipation etc.,) depression, hormonal disorders of men and women, infertility, insomnia, migraine, recurrent infections, seizure disorders, shingles, and skin disorders.
We care about our patients and we focus on treating the entire person and not just band aid the symptom. Our treatment for any illness/disorder is very comprehensive and takes into account their diet, lifestyle, emotional and physical stresses and the cause of the problem to come up with a tailor-made plan for each patient.
We want our patients to be well and not be our patients for life!
