Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Magovern
Hi Stacey , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in Abilene, Texas, I come from a family of entrepreneurs. At the age of five months, my mother Lin Rushing opened her first retail store in Abilene. Over 44 years, she turned that one store into a five-store strip mall. The lessons I learned from my mother inspired me to go into business for myself. My career in outside sales began after I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Communications. In many ways, commission-based work is similar to owning a business. The same discipline and dedication are required. The key to my success in sales was networking and exceeding all sales goals. Being a police wife for 18 years, I have a passion for first responders and have always wanted to run my own business. I turned my passion into a multimillion-dollar company in 2012. I launched my company Point Blank Safety Services. Point Blank Safety provides security and traffic services by off duty police officers. Then in 2017 I took that success and co-founded Blue Family Fund, Inc a nonprofit that provides financial aid and scholarships to families of fallen First Responders with my husband Michael Magovern.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Owning and operating a business comes with its own set of challenges and struggles, regardless of the industry or size of the company. From finding reliable suppliers to hiring competent employees, managing cash flow to navigating changing market trends, business owners are constantly faced with obstacles that require creative solutions and strategic decision-making. The dynamic nature of business means that entrepreneurs must be adaptable and open to change in order to stay competitive and meet the evolving needs of their customers. By staying informed about industry trends, networking with other professionals, and continually seeking opportunities for growth and innovation, business owners can navigate the inevitable challenges that come with owning and operating a business. Successful entrepreneurs understand the importance of embracing change and being proactive in shaping their business to thrive in an ever-changing marketplace. Currently, my challenge is to balance my time between Point Blank Safety Services and our nonprofit Blue Family Fund, Inc.
We’ve been impressed with Point Blank Safety Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

With a team of experienced police officers who undergo rigorous training programs, Point Blank Safety Services offers a comprehensive approach to managing risks in high-risk environments. Their dedication to implementing effective safety measures, including perimeter security, access control, traffic management, and emergency response protocols, sets them apart as a leader in the industry. In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
As the global population continues to grow, so does the need for enhanced physical security measures and expanded highway infrastructure. With increasing concerns surrounding terrorism, crime, and natural disasters, the demand for advanced security technology and trained professionals in the field of physical security is expected to rise. Similarly, as urbanization and economic development progress, there will be a greater need for the construction and maintenance of highways to accommodate growing traffic volumes. The continuous advancements in technology and materials used in both sectors will also drive growth in these industries. Overall, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and modernization, the physical security and highway construction industry are poised for significant expansion in the coming years.
