Meet Stacy Shepherd of The Yoga Factory in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Shepherd.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story?
I had been teaching yoga as I worked a full-time 30-year corporate career for a few years – with a background as an entrepreneur and business developer, decided the only way to spend more time teaching -my passion- was to open my own studio in far north Dallas and go for it. With my background and connections, having taught at nearly every studio and gym in Uptown and Downtown Dallas, I was able to open within 5 months of committing to this vision and started with 10 of my teacher friends on the schedule. We opened in May 2013 and our second location opened November 2015.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Teachers as contractors, build out, landlords, financing.

Got it. Alright, so can you tell us a little more about The Yoga Factory Plano and The Yoga Factory Dallas – what should we know?
Baptiste Power yoga is what we do. We are an affiliate studio which is not an easy thing to attain. We are a friendly, welcoming community. We host events and parties, hold workshops for all levels of practitioner and develop leaders through our Teacher training. I am most proud of our community. We have done much to give back to homeless shelters, food banks and refugees.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Our leaders. Our team. Our sense of being of service.
