Meet Stephanie Wilson of The Beehive Company in Preston Hollow

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Wilson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began my career in the beauty industry in 2004. As an ambitious new makeup artist I earned the opportunity to work for Chanel Cosmetics at Neiman Marcus. I found my passion and happiness making other people look and feel beautiful. I day dreamed about one day owning a beauty makeup, hair, fashion and photography “one stop shop”, I knew I needed to be licensed, so I made the first step and enrolled at Paul Mitchell cosmetology school. It was then when I discovered a new passion, Hair Coloring and cutting!

The combination of color, art and science was just the beginning of a whole new desire and freedom to create and explore. I realized how much fun I was having meeting so many new people every day with different stories, different wants and needs and I get to help them! I get to make them feel better about themselves! It’s exciting and challenging and frightening and rewarding. This is just the beginning of something spectacular and I’m thrilled beyond my wildest dreams to see what comes next. Has it been a smooth road?
Oh the challenges…

One of my biggest mistakes, I’m willing to admit, was not doing enough research. Let’s take marketing for instance, I thought I knew how to market myself, I was wrong! After a few marketing classes and seminars, I applied my new knowledge, started a new marketing strategy, and WHOA! It actually worked. You can’t just learn something once, learn it 7 more times and you’ll get better results. I’m a firm believer in what you put into the universe comes back.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Beehive Company – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in balayage, ombré, dimensional blonde and brunette coloring and creative colors. My goal is to give my clients the look they desire, a look which can spice up or enhance their natural beauty whether it be a dimensional hair color or easy to manage hairstyle. I take the extra one on one time educating how to recreate the style at home. After all, my clients are all walking advertisements of my work.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the diversity of our city. Each neighborhood has its own vibe. I can easily drive to one side of Dallas and be laid back and chill while the other side is glamorous and cha cha cha!
