Meet Stephen Russell of Fort Worth Stockyards

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Russell

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In spring of 2023 I started working as a tour guide for a nationwide ghost tour company in the Stockyards of Fort Worth, Texas. I soon would be known as a tall dark figure with a black hat that would be seen guiding tourists and locals throughout the streets and alleyways telling of western history and ghost stories.
After a year of I had established multitudes of Google 5 star reviews and was known as an iconic ghost tour guide, made many friends and felt comfortable being here.
However I needed to move forward into a new place in my life and took some time off to explore and discover
adventures working in a local cemetery as a gravedigger and caretaker.
After several months of working on an idea to bring to life,
I was now ready to move forward with the idea of creating my own ghost tour in the Stockyards which included well informed historical facts about the location and those ghosts or spirits who have left behind their impression or are still active to this day.
Giving notice to many historical buildings, hotels and saloons in the Stockyards, this tour will also take a step into the dark shadows and lonely corridors during the Mid 1800’s to current times. Despite all the activities and events that occur on Exchange Ave.
Nothing is to script on this tour, each adventure is unique and powerful for everyone involved.
Entertaining and engaging it will leave you wanting more!
In September of 2024 , Pale Ghost Tours opened up booking and began a new chapter for all ghost tours at the Stockyards of Fort Worth, Texas!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, everything has been really smooth for me. I’ve made sure I had put a lot of thought into things before I made any decisions. It took some time to get all my ducks in a row, but now the hard part is over, let’s have some fun!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Mostly I am known as a singer/ songwriter for a local band called Chemical Tree, our music can be found on iTunes, Spotify, and Cdbaby. We are also on Facebook and have a popular video on YouTube.
We are currently working on our third album and rehearse several times a month in Dallas.
During the day I spend my time as a salesman of gourmet kitchen knives all around Texas, this is a popup roadshow, where I am delivering a well informed demonstration of how the knives perform and all the unique benefits of having them in the kitchen.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk is an intimidating word that keeps you from moving forward or taking that unknown step into a direction that could very well make your dreams come true. There will always be setbacks or detours but until a risk is taken, nothing can be gained.
