Meet Suzanne Reid of Distillery Creative Marketing Group in Bartonville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Reid.

Suzanne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started working commercially in graphic design doing freehand signage for small businesses when I was 13. In high school, I practiced photography and became the photo editor of my high school yearbook.

I studied graphic design at UCLA and became the art director of the UCLA yearbook. I studied magazine design and publishing at the University of Missouri School of Journalism and became a student teacher at MU.

My first job out of college was the art director of Saint Louis Home Garden Magazine. From there I moved back to California and became art director of Orange Coast Magazine. I began photographing celebrities as art director of Orange Coast and began teaching graphic design at Cal State Fullerton, Cal State LA and UC San Diego.

I opened Savant Design Associates in Newport Beach, and my staff and I produced graphic design materials for commercial developers, architects, politicians, and nonprofits.

Today I run Distillery Creative and my staff and I produce logos, print and web design, social media marketing and search engine marketing for small businesses and nonprofits.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
If any business owner were honest, the path is bumpy. The challenges of getting the work done within budget and keeping everyone employed are the biggest challenges.

Please tell us about Distillery Creative Marketing Group.
Distillery Creative is a graphic design firm specializing in inbound marketing of small businesses and nonprofits.

We collaborate with clients to develop their brand–their image and their message. We develop their logo, website, print and collateral materials. From there we develop inbound marketing strategies to bring business in their doors and to build their businesses. We love working with our clients to build their business.

We are most proud of the success we have brought to our clients’ businesses. Our level of service and attention to detail that we bring to our customers set us apart from our competition. We go way beyond what we promise to deliver superior service.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I have to say that we have grown at a pace that is secure for our employees and maintains the quality we want to deliver to our clients. I can’t think of what I would change.
