Today we’d like to introduce you to Sybill Harris.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sybill. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Have you ever questioned your purpose? Have you experienced failure after failure that you wanted to just throw in the towel? I’m sure we all have but one thing for sure, those failures will turn into success.
In 2018-2019 I experienced episodes of anxiety. The space I was in was dark and gloomy. I couldn’t see anything past it, I was lost. The job I thought was going to be my “long term career” became just another job to clock in and clock out to. I knew I was destined for something so much better, something that had my name is written all over it, something that spoke GREATNESS!
In the year 2016, I started my fitness journey. Day after day I started to fall in love with the lifestyle. The physical transformation was one thing but it was more so the way I started to feel inside. I felt stronger, I felt in control, and I felt the dark space I was once in being filled with so much light. As I continued to grow, I decided to share my story and journey with the world. I was amazed of how many people were inspired by my journey. I then realized people were sending messages asking me if I was a trainer, can I train them, I should start my own business in becoming a trainer and etc. This never once cross my mind because I never seen myself as a trainer. I then realized what if this is my calling, why I doubt myself but there is a reason for everything. Now here I am the Founder and owner of Jewelz Arena Dance & Fitness.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I created Jewelz Arena Dance & Fitness, I literally had a million ideas that I wanted to just throw out there. However, when building something new, you have to take it one step at a time to ensure that the foundation you are going to build on is strong, durable, and solid. Building the foundation takes a while and I am still in the process of doing just that. Most importantly, finding a strong team to build with.
Another struggle along the way is time management. Becoming your own boss is not easy, especially when you are a mother of three kiddos and still employed with your 9-5 trying to finance your dreams. My world is always spinning it’s non stop and can be overwhelming most of the time.
Please tell us about Jewelz Arena Dance & Fitness.
Jewelz Arena Dance & Fitness was founded in June 2019. The Arena offers personal, group, and virtual fitness training. If anyone would like to add spice to their workout, we also teach and host dance and twerk fitness classes. Our motto is “Believe you can and you’re halfway there!” The Arena is known for its style, energy and effort to spread the importance of self-care, confidence, and growth. We are most proud of our client’s life changes testimonies. What sets us apart from others is our goal to achieve much more than a physical transformation. We are transforming our minds, body and souls to live a healthy and fit lifestyle. Every client that touches the Arena has a stone that is placed in the foundation. This is what The Arena is built on.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One of my favorite childhood memories was the times my sisters and I would dress up as a music group and perform in our big mirror in the middle of the living room. We choreographed every single dance move and performed as if we were in New York on New Year’s eve.
