Today we’d like to introduce you to Tab Sadiq.
Tab, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The catalyst behind my journey was a freak accident a decade ago. I was stabbed multiple times in a mugging gone wrong and spent most of that year recovering from abdominal surgery. Rehabilitation also consisted of nightly internal conversations. “What if I had died?” was the question where I would end up leading up to the ultimate question of, “had I truly lived?” That was the chip on my shoulder – to really, truly live. Much more openly and freely than I did at my first shot at life. This, right now, is my re-do.
I was always aware of my strengths and what set me on fire but looked the other way by taking solace in the perception that I have enough time … and then that happened. I eventually recovered and got right to that one thing that I would have regretted the most had I not made it out alive; I began traveling at every chance I got. The joy I found in being lost in an unknown land was inexplicable, but I quickly also discovered what brought me more joy was sharing my discoveries with the world and presenting an alternate perspective of a particular destination.
It’s so true when they say that sometimes a dream almost whispers at you, and as you follow through with it, you’ll hear more whispers along the way to let you know you’re on the correct path.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall, it has been a smooth and fulfilling road however with anything new and uncomfortable comes its share of struggles. Working a full-time job by day and then creating content at night is an ongoing balancing act, not to mention self-learning proper operation of camera equipment and insane editing software was a grueling experience! Some lifestyle adjustments were made by downsizing on nice cars or bigger homes to prioritize travel. And lastly, bouncing back from post abdominal surgery-related health issues that still resurface every now and then.

I don’t sell anything. My “why?” is to present my viewers with in-depth explorations of not just what to see at a particular destination but also what lens to see it with.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My recent trip to Pakistani occupied Kashmir has been my proudest moment. I recently just wrapped up a travel film on Kashmir. It was a major accomplishment to have captured unseen footage from one of the most militarized zones in the world, and showcase the region in a different light.
