Meet Taé Baszile of Grand prairie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taé Baszile.

Hi Taé, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I had the idea for my business in October of 2024. I always knew that I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I didn’t necessarily know what I wanted to do. So while working at Texas family fitness as a master trainer, I began to look into the necessary steps to start a personal training business of my own. It wasn’t until December 2024 when I started the 75 hard challenge that I realized I wanted to build a business that incorporated my two favorite things; faith and fitness. I knew that I wanted to start this business so that I could quit my job at Texas family fitness, reach more individuals, and ultimately help people grow closer to God. Toward the end of December Texas family fitness got bought out by planet fitness so I knew it was time for a change. A lot of my clients canceled their training and their membership due to the acquisition so needless to say I was not in a good position financially. I felt like I was constantly receiving signs that it was time to go, but I was procrastinating because I didn’t know how I would juggle trying to start a business while not having a job. A lot of my clients told me not to quit until I had another job lined up, but the goal was never to get another job. It was always to work for myself. A couple other trainers had quit and my manager ended up not being able to work and so on 28 February I quit my job. From there, I knew that I would have a lot of work to do to get my website up and to market myself to gain clients. TikTok has been the biggest help in marketing myself as a way to gain clients. I began posting workout content, weight, loss, tips, etc. As soon as I got my website up, I got an influx of clientele. I then had a photographer reach out to me basically telling me that there was an opportunity for me to bring my clients to train at a gym in Grand Prairie called iron bar athletics. They have been a very big help in providing me with any resources that I need for my clients and they have an amazing community there with owners who are Christian as well and do weekly Bible studies and I felt right at home.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road whatsoever. Not a lot of people are aware of this but being in school and being a full-time personal trainer is very difficult. I just turned 24 and I am in my last year of undergrad, studying sociology with a minor and counseling. I have dreams of becoming marriage and family therapist so falling in love with fitness was a very unexpected turn for me. Having to juggle my academics in my last year of college and the demands of my school life, the demands of the lives of my clients, and the demands of my personal life haven’t necessarily been the easiest to juggle. I have also had struggles financially from pouring my last into my business whether that be building my website, paying monthly rent to the gym that I work at, paying for gas back-and-forth from Denton to Grand Prairie every week. I knew that I was going to have struggles, but it was something I didn’t complain about because training is something that I am extremely passionate about. I’ve also had a struggles where my TikTok videos weren’t performing as well, and I fell into a creative slump or not prioritizing my own physical health because I was so worried about wanting to get my business off the ground. I’ve always known that there are certain risks associated with being an entrepreneur. I may not get to spend time with family as often, I may have a lot of sleepless nights because I’m worried about my clients success, or I’m just fighting imposter syndrome. Ultimately, I know that this is the plan that God has for me and he will never leave nor forsake me so I put all my trust in him and I wouldn’t be where I am now without him.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a certified personal trainer. I specialize in glute growth as well as weight loss. I would say to the general people who know me, I am known for my physique, but to all my clients I am known for the intensity of my workouts. I would say that my niche in training is hypertrophy and progressive overload. I strive to help my clients lose weight by building muscle which speeds up their metabolism, allowing them to lose the weight a little bit faster. I would say aside from my professional success. I am most proud of the bonds that I have built with my clients. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not just a trainer. I tend to fill many roles. I am a confidant, I am a big sister, I am a counselor, I am a motivator, I am an accountability partner, and I am always someone who will give it to you straight without beating around the bush and my clients know that. I would say that there’s two things that set me apart from other trainers. First and foremost would be my programs. All my programs are equipped with four pillars. The first pillar being the exercise pillar which I deliver through a thorough assessment of my client’s body and giving them a workout routine that aligns with their goals. I also use an app that provides them with not only their workout program, but video tutorials for when they’re not with me. I also provide nutritional guidance. All my clients know that I do not believe in dieting. I believe in balance. So with that I take what they’re already eating, and add the necessary fixes for them to reach their goals. One thing that also sets my programming apart is the fact that I deliver supplements with every single program. I know as a first time gym goer it can be daunting to find out where to get extra protein from or vitamins, etc. so in order to relieve some of that stress, I prescribed them, the necessary supplements that they need and it is included within their programs. The last pillar that is included with my programming is coaching and accountability, which is what they receive from me. I always ensure that I know what each and every single one of my clients are up to. I take an active role within their lives because they are trusting me with their goals so I make sure that they are getting to the gym when they plan to , hitting the necessary nutritional macros that they need, and that their mental health is the best it can be. The second and most important thing that says me apart is God. When I was in the process of developing my business, I realized that not a lot of Christian fitness creators were pushed on my side of TikTok. I wanted to integrate faith and fitness because they were the two most important things to me. God is essential to my life and even if I have a client that is not Christian, I don’t force Christianity upon them, but we do have real talks about God. My goal is to plant the seed not convert anyone to Christianity. I know that if I spread the word about God, then I am doing the best that I possibly can, which is enough for me.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I would say the thing that I like best about our city is the community. Initially, starting my own business, I was scared that nobody would support a small business like my own. Fortunately, for me that cannot be farther from the truth. I’ve gotten the most uplifting messages and comments from complete strangers that live in the city and it just brings me so much hope and optimism to know that I can be successful as a small business owner. I wouldn’t necessarily say that there’s anything that I dislike about our city.
