Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamie Nguyen.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It begins 10 years ago when I left Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Dallas, TX. A modern city with warmer weather and opportunities.
Growing up, I always fascinated with arts. Given a chance to work at a beauty salon had slowly grown my passion. There I met a co-worker, she later became my mentor. She taught me the first lesson on how to apply eyeshadows. Wow! I was so excited because I never know anything regarding beauty and makeup. Excited and inspired, I decided to get on social media to follow makeup artists and beauty gurus. My two sisters were my first models. (They were brave!)
At first, it was just a hobby that I loved. As times grew, it became a career. I decided to join a makeup team where they involved in fashion shows, magazine editorial photoshoots. There I got more chance to meet and learn from talented artists. I went to shows and got chances to perform on stage at fashion shows. I also volunteered to be an assistant of a famous bridal makeup artist where I experienced in weddings and events. With the cosmetology license, I started working on building my wedding portfolio and other services.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to success is never smooth. “Success is an iceberg. People only see above the surface, the results. But underneath are: persistence, failure, sacrifice, good habits, hard work, dedication.” The hardest part is to overcome myself. Pushing myself to improve everyday. And learn to work with different personalities.

Today, I have my little studio inside a Salon suite. I do makeup for weddings, events, and concerts. I also offer other services like Eyelashes extension and Microblading.
“Beaute.at.Heart,” everything start from the Heart. Beauty is also the Art. Each person experience and look at beauty in their own way. What set me apart is, I always listen to my client’s opinions, ideas and how they want the service to be done. I am honest and I make sure they are satisfied.
I am so thankful for referrals from clients and friends. Most of my new clients are referred by word-of-mouth.
What were you like growing up?
I am growing up as an easy going and fun loving person. I love to smile and laugh. I look shy from the outside but confident inside.
