Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Graham.
Tammy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was in 6th grade when my dad purchased a camera. After looking at the manual and deciding that he didn’t want to read it all he gave me the task.
I never gave the camera Back! I want to be a photographer on the yearbook staff at Aledo High school and for just about anything I could get to pose for me!! I took some college class at TCU for film developing and after my kids were born got back into it as my hobby. I was doing a few things here and there for money, but decided to turn Pro. I had a couple of years of working out of my house and then when the drive and hours became too long I made a change. I opened a storefront on University, stayed there for 7 years and the bought a building that I stayed in for 7 years and the sold it for a profit and bought another building! I have continued to learn about and perfect my art by attending schools, teaching and speaking. I have earned my Craftsman degree for speaking and finishing my Masters. I will also be the president of the Texas Professions Photographer on Jan 1st, which is also my Birthday!! I will enjoy the opportunity to lead and mentor such a great group of people, (3000).
I guess I will never be where I want to be. That would mean that I have done and seen it all. I love the learning and development process that comes with life, you never know what around the next corner. Film, digital?
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, the transition to digital was a bit rough There were no standards for the labs or the photographers and trying to convince a lab that you didn’t shoot a green haired lady was a bit hard. Sometimes, it was our fault l and sometimes, not.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Locations Photography story. Tell us more about the business.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I had the good luck to treat this a hobby before I got into it. So, I tested the waters before I jumped it. Now, it is a full-time business that helps pay my bills.
