Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Rojas.

Tanya, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been on a beautiful spiritual journey and really wanted to be able to have the tools available to assist others on similar paths. I truly believe in the healing properties that gemstones hold, in addition to our minds, they’re both powerful healers. Everyone struggles with finding their true purpose, finding their spiritual niche, I wanted to be able to offer various stones and tools to fulfill their own spiritual quests. My dreamcatchers are all handmade. I really take pride in those because my grandfather taught me, I really put a lot of hard work into making them.

I hope to have my own brick and mortar within five years, but until then I’ll remain online, while doing various fairs in the DFW area. I love meeting people and hearing their stories or helping them pick a specific gemstone that will help with their journey or current issue. I truly love helping others.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth ride. I did a lot of research before launching my site. It took almost a year before I was comfortable with launching. I’ve had a lot of downs; equipment broke, software crashed and my two-year-old cracked the screen on my brand new laptop. I have a degree in substance abuse counseling, not business so it has been quite the struggle, but I raise four kids so it can’t be much harder than that!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the The Blue Lotus Shop story. Tell us more about the business.
The Blue Lotus Shop is an online business specializing in spiritual items. Currently, I offer spiritual graphic tees for men and women, metaphysical jewelry, smudge kits, rune sets, etc. and of course incense!

I’m a one woman team so I do everything. I saw my own muslin bags, create my own tags, manage ads and all social media accounts. I would like to give credit where credit is due and give thanks to my friend, Racell, for making my first batch of muslin bags. She’s truly a good soul.

I am proud of my business in its entirety. I do not have a background in business or graphic design but I managed to figure it out. I’ve put a lot of hard work into this, it’s stressful at times but I love it.

There are a lot of shops like mine, we all kind of sell the same spiritual paraphernalia so the only thing that can set me apart from others is the energy customers receive from me, whether it’s through social media posts, blog posts or how my products are packaged. Sometimes it’s hard to connect with customers with an online shop, that’s why I really enjoy doing fairs, I love meeting people and hearing their stories or helping them pick a specific gemstone that will help with their journey or current issue.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In the next five years, I will have my own brick and mortar. I have a vision of what I want my shop to become. I’d love to expand my inventory and offer a large variety of products. I’d also like to have spiritual related workshops, tarot or rune readings, and dreamcatcher how-to’s.
