Meet Tara Edge of Olive Branch Floral Design in East Dallas, Lakewood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Edge.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tara. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been in love with flowers. All of the women in my family love them too; so I grew up seeing beautiful flowers outside and inside the home. My grandmother, Doris Flowers, actually had a floral shop called House of Flowers that she ran out of her home – very similar to what I do today! Yes, her name is Doris Flowers, and her shop was called House of Flowers (you can’t make this stuff up!).

Beginning in 2016, I was able to reclaim some personal time as both my sons started school. It was during this time that I decided, with the encouragement of family and friends, to see what might happen if I turned my love for flowers into a business!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I did my first wedding last year! It was incredibly rewarding to be part of such an important event, but it was also a ton of pressure. I wanted to make sure to give the bride my best work on her special day!

Please tell us about Olive Branch Floral Design.
Olive Branch Floral Design specializes in fresh, thoughtful floral arrangements. I love to work with my customers to create something truly special for whatever the occasion. As a boutique florist, each stem is selected with your arrangement in mind. Whether it’s a gift for a friend, flowers for a big 40th birthday celebration, or a welcome arrangement for a new baby – we will come up with something perfect that you’ll love! I also include a handwritten note for an added special touch!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I love Dallas, but I’m originally an Arkansas girl! Summers spent at the lake are by far my favorite childhood memory. Water skiing, catching fireflies and skipping rocks – what’s not to love?!
