Hi Tara, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! Thank you so much for having me. My name is Tara Thorpe and I have co-founded Recovery Concierge, llc by integrating my passions of aesthetics, private home health care and holistic healing. My experience as a Registered Nurse includes Intensive Care Unit, Post-Surgical ICU, Trauma Surgical as well as experience caring for patients in the privacy of their homes. Recovery Concierge, llc is an embodiment of all the things I love. At Recovery Concierge, we maintain our gold standard by providing quality care for our patients, offering only top tier services from high caliber staff. In creating Recovery Concierge, we wanted to redefine recovery by combining modern day medicine with holistic health for optimal healing of the mind, body and soul. Being passionate about aesthetics, we specialize in post op plastics. We have recovered plastics patients ranging from face/neck lifts, rhinoplasty’s, blepharoplasty’s breast augmentations and breast lifts, to 360 liposuction, tummy tucks, mommy makeovers, BBL’s, to more discrete operations. We keep you physically safe and hemodynamically stable during that first phase of recovery; preventing post op complications then moving towards optimal comfort in the comfort of your own sacred space.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Most of my life has been trial and error, fall down seven times and get up eight so oftentimes having to pivot and learning how to thrive in chaos is my natural state. When Recovery Concierge was first created of which was self funded by still working at the hospital on the trauma floor, and there was so much time invested into creating it to be what it is today. The next step was marketing and I began by door knocking and office visits to different plastic surgeons in the DFW metroplex. I made 50 visits before I got one call from a client, and after that one phone call, I realized the idea I had of providing healing to patients had come to fruition, and I was over the moon.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Happiness- many things make me happy. I am happiest when I am outdoors exploring nature, traveling the world, cuddling with my dog Hank, creating colorful meals in the kitchen, seeing my patients through to the end of their recovery where they are well.
Who else deserves credit – have you had mentors, supporters, cheerleaders, advocates, clients or teammates that have played a big role in your success or the success of the business?
My dad and sisters raised me and have been my biggest support for an entire lifetime. My grandpa Jay, who gave up his dreams of retiring and traveling in an RV at age 50 to raise us- you are everything. To our partnerships with our surgeons across the DFW metroplex that trust us to care for their patients, they deserve all the credit because the healing and impact of Recovery Concierge wouldn’t be possible without their work. And to our patients that allow us to recover them alongside their entire journey from initial recovery to Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy post lips and IV hydration, it’s been so special. And to my team of RN’s and partnership with Reset and Replenish, its been such an adventure but we’re doing it girls!
