Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiana Ortiz.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I moved to Texas about six years ago after a bad divorce, where I was at my lowest point in life. I knew I had to stand up and make a change. Makeup has always been my escape, those 30 minutes I would spend doing my makeup and putting on my lipstick was my time to feel beautiful and strong. Makeup is something I truly love doing and now I want to share my passion with my clients.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing comes easy, and it has most definitely not been a smooth road especially being a growing artist. Everyday is a chance to be better than yesterday and learn from your mistakes. The beauty of makeup is you are free to create and express yourself whether it’s a red lipstick that makes you feel like you can take on a pack of ninjas while playing laser tag …..or a fierce cut crease just to wear into Walmart to pick up a gallon of milk.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Glam By Tati story. Tell us more about the business.
Glam By Tati was created about two years ago. I never really had the confidence to bring my makeup skills into full force until recently. I want the women or men who come to get Glam by me to feel and know how beautiful they are. Whether you want soft everyday glam or colorful mega glam I want to be the one to make that happen.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
For me, luck is having the opportunity to create my own brand. I have been very fortunate with all the support I have been given by my family and followers. My husband lets me put eyeliner on him just so I can practice if that’s not support I don’t know what is……
