Meet Taylor Wade of Nani Mau Beauty in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Wade.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Taylor. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Nani Mau (Nah-Knee Mow) translates as “forever beautiful” in Hawaiian. My family and I were blessed with the opportunity to live on the beautiful island of Oahu for two years and created memories that would last forever. Living in Hawaii for two years, the beauty of the island and the Hawaiian culture inspired me to create Nani Mau beauty.

Nani Mau Beauty was also very much inspired by my mother, Kimberly Edwards, who passed away 1/23/12 during my senior year of high school. My mother’s nickname for my children was “Nani” she didn’t want to be called Grandma, she wanted to be called Nani. So what better way to honor her than creating Nani Mau? The collaboration of my love for the beauty industry and the Hawaiian islands brought about Nani Mau Beauty.

I have always been aware of my artistic and creative characteristics; however, I just could not pinpoint exactly how I could use it and share it with the world. Thankfully, I found joy and passion in being creative through doing makeup, becoming a beauty influencer, and developing Nani Mau Beauty.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I am sure that we are all aware that nothing in life that is worth having comes easy. It has definitely been a long and difficult road to get where I am today. To be completely transparent, I lost my mother at 17, had children very young, and married my husband at a young age as well.

My husband is a former U.S. Military service member and being a military spouse is not the most easiest thing in the world (I am sure many can relate). I had to endure moving thousands of miles away from home away from family where I knew no-one.

Every time we moved my family, and I had to start over with jobs, school, friends, etc. The sacrifices that my family and I have had to make along the way have not been easy but have been worth it one-hundred percent!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Nani Mau Beauty story. Tell us more about the business.
Nani Mau Beauty’s mission is to create and sell beauty enhancing products that will allow each and every one of our customer’s/client’s to feel and be confident, powerful, and beautiful forever.

As an aspiring make-up artist, I strive to be a light and have a positive impact on someone’s life one look at a time. It is our passion to create and leave a life-long impression on as many lives as possible!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I honestly don’t believe that things that have happened in my life and business has been a result of good luck or bad luck. I honestly believe that God has a purpose for each and every one of our lives and in life, there are tests that we may be presented with. We will either pass the test or fail it, there is no in between. Failures don’t mean it’s the end of the world. How we respond to these tests is what matters the most.
