Today we’d like to introduce you to Taz Alam.
Taz, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My story begins with an 8-year-old girl coming from overseas and learning the English language. After struggling with language barriers, I was determined to accomplish all that I can to make my parents proud. It all began in 2004, when I graduated Magna Cum Laude from UNT majoring in Visual Communication. My first career job started with Fossil Inc. in their license brand department. During those two years, I was fortunate enough to work with some of their top clients, such as Burberry, Emporio Armani, Diesel and DKNY watch line. After few years, I was offered a Senior Designer role for a major healthcare company, which is today owned by United Healthcare.
In 2008, my husband and I found out we were expecting our first born, which pushed me to take a leap of faith and begin freelance work on the side. The first few years were minimal, as I was balancing my full-time job, motherhood and ThinkTaz. Slow but steady, I knew one day my passion would be my profession.
Fast forward another five years (2013), ThinkTaz had grown consistently. Looking back a lot of my business was through word of mouth and referrals from previous clients. Some of the clients that I have worked with are Law Office of Mark Farha, Neuro Surgical Associates of North Texas, Green Oaks Tele-Psychiatry Network, 24Fundraiser, HCA North Texas to name a few.
In 2014, I had a baby girl to complete our family, which led me to push myself even harder and take my business to the next level. Since then, I have been blessed to work with some of the most amazing clients all over the U.S. (SMU Football, LuxxLash Boutique, Dallas, Accent Foods, Women Business Development Center, Brinks Security, Walter E. Smith, CrossMark, TPC Craig Ranch Golf Academy, Cubex, Shared Imaging, Ziprad, etc.).
I have worked on various projects through these clients, from print collateral, tradeshow booth design, packaging design, interior signage, B2B materials, Powerpoint animation, truck decal, to name a few. I can’t name a particular project that I loved over another but if I had to name a few would be 7-Elven interior signage, Advancial Banking annual reports, Westwood Holdings Group Powerpoint branding, NorthShore Care store packaging and Sabre Holdings animation presentation.
I value the relationship of my clients, which I hope it gives me the potential to grow more in the next ten years.
Has it been a smooth road?
