Hi Teirra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Teirra, and I’ve been a licensed hairstylist and nail technician for over seven years. I started doing hair and nails because I’ve always loved helping people feel confident and look their best. What began as a passion quickly turned into a career when I realized how much joy and creativity the beauty industry brings me.
Over the years, I’ve built my business through dedication, continuous learning, and genuine care for my clients. Today, I work out of Qumeni Salon Suites in Keller, where I specialize in healthy hair care, braids, and nail services. My goal has always been to provide a relaxing, luxury experience while helping each client maintain the health and beauty of their natural hair and nails.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited for what’s next as I continue growing TamedT Hair & Nails and creating more opportunities to inspire others in the beauty community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first started, there were times I questioned if I was doing the right thing. Building my clientele took patience, and there were slow seasons that really tested my faith and consistency.
Transitioning into my own suite was another big challenge — learning how to manage bookings, handle expenses, and promote myself while still focusing on my craft while still working a full time job wasn’t easy. But each obstacle pushed me to grow, stay disciplined, and find my confidence as a business owner.
Looking back, I’m thankful for those hard times because they taught me resilience. Every lesson, every setback, and every late night helped shape the stylist, nail tech, and entrepreneur I am today.
