Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrence Pease.
Terrence, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up, I always knew I would be doing something in the creative field, whether it was traditional art, design, or fashion. I ultimately ended up studying for graphic design (I currently work as a web designer), but my passion for photography started in college when I needed to use a camera for one of the assignments my professor gave us. He let us borrow his old Canon Rebel T3 and ever since then a camera has been in my hands.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Since I’m mostly a hobbyist when it comes to photography, it’s been pretty smooth for me. I have a couple of inquiries for a photo shoot that happened organically through word of mouth, but I haven’t been actively looking for clients. I know that if I did start pursuing photography as a business, it would no doubt be hard work so commend everyone who does photography for a living. The hardest part, to me, is staying sharp creatively and challenging myself to make better photos.
What do you do? What do you specialize in?
I would say one thing that sets me apart from others is my critical eye. I believe I can see things in a different way that normally wouldn’t present itself to most people and that shows in my work.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Start shooting photography earlier than college.
