Today we’d like to introduce you to Terressa Nordstrom.
Always entrepreneurial minded, leader Terressa created her first money making ideas as early as the 2nd grade. During high school she entered the food service industry, after extensive training and mentoring in the culinary industry, she secured an Executive Chef position, purchased a restaurant, and competed internationally with world-renowned chefs. In 2006, an unexpected injury forced her out of a long and successful career in the culinary world.
Unable to sustain the long hours on her feet as an Executive Chef, due to the injury, Terressa turned her business savvy towards a new career in insurance. After only four months at UUI, Ms. Nordstrom was recognized with several awards, including The Millionaire Roundtable, Highest Income Earner in her category, and a Top National Producer. These distinctions earned her a place on UUI’s elite Field Executive Committee.
As with serving culinary delights, serving entertainment was a joy. Terressa and her partner Bobby Benton now own a successful Music Venue in the Fort Worth area. Her passion for creating jookable™, the ultimate Video Queuing Software platform, has inspired others to help make her vision a reality and create the ultimate social media experience.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest obstacles have been fundraising. Funding a band new idea is a challenge, we have successfully closed out our first round raising 980,000 and are about to launch our second round. Sleep is also a struggle, having such a major platform to work with keeps the mind active with more and more ideas. Sometimes falling asleep is difficult, to say the least.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about jookable™ – what should we know?
jookable™ is a Video Queuing Software Platform that has been tested in restaurants and nightclubs in Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Georgia, Mississippi, and Florida. jookable™ is the fastest way to search, queue up, and share videos or stream it live with the venues of your choice. We have revolutionized the way surgeons can interact with other doctors and interns during surgeries.
The idea for jookable™ came about in July 2014 while sharing videos with customers at our music venue in Azle, Texas. Our venue is well known regionally and is popular with up and coming musical artists. In sharing music videos with artists and others at the venue, we found no way to effectively share the videos with all those that wanted to view them. I decided to work on a way to share these videos across our facility on all of the television monitors. I formed an excellent team of professionals, all the top in their field, to help bring my vision to light.
In February 2015, we conducted stress tests on our servers. Starting in Nashville Tennessee; we traveled to Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana adding over 50 venues for our Beta test period. The response has been overwhelming. In 2018 we have our working software available in the United States and are now releasing internationally.
We are ready to go to the market and have positioned ourselves with an amazing product that will bring the ultimate in video sharing experience while being highly profitable for our partners. I am the founder and CEO of jookable™
