Today we’d like to introduce you to Terry (TB) Bailey.
Terry, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Rapping is not something that was my dream. I picked it up because of the background in music my family has. My uncle is a DJ, and many of my cousins rapped. I started rapping in 2012 but did not get serious about it until 2014. Up until then, it was just a hobby for me, I would rap at parties and just write raps in my room. When I started rapping in front of my family, they encouraged me to take it seriously and pursue it. I started rapping with a few friends I knew. From there, I came up with my own brand True Breed ENT. So far behind this brand, I have performed at car shows, house of blues, and many other shows around Dallas building a bigger buzz for myself.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. The biggest challenge for me so far has been trying to balance time. I have and family and also a full-time job. Another challenge is surrounding myself with the right people to take me to a higher level. Some people are fake and dealing with those type of people can waste time and money.
Please tell us about True Breed Ent.
I set my business up as an enterprise so that I can have other business under the same brand of True Breed ENT. So far, my businesses specialize in music and clothing. When I am out, people asking to buy merch or when new music is coming out. What sets me apart is my clothing is one of a kind, I express my feelings through my clothing.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Summers at my Aunt’s house. My cousins had a kickback in their studio and we’re all in there rapping and I started rapping after everyone finished, and everybody hyped me up to do more. I stayed in there over an hour rapping for everyone.
