Today we’d like to introduce you to Teylore Bratton.
Teylore, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Let’s see… I landed myself in Dallas roughly four years ago. I needed a change from Pittsburgh and luckily found my forever home here in Texas, hello hot weather! As soon as I got here, one of the first things I noticed was all of this amazing food surrounding me. I immediately just wanted to try everything and felt like a kid in a candy store. Talk about a newfound love for food.
I started to venture out to different places and began to take pictures of my food and the more pictures I shared the more compliments I received. Then one day it just hit me, I found my niche! I took a leap of faith and began to work hard to provide great content. One year later, here I am making a name for myself in the foodie world and I couldn’t be happier. I feel so blessed to be in this position and to have made genuine connections with so many amazing creatives in the area.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not particularly been a smooth road but I honestly welcome that because I appreciate the roadblocks that make me better. I think the biggest struggle I usually encounter is being too hard on myself. I am my toughest critic and will push myself to what I believe is perfection, but it can also create self-doubt. However, putting myself out there with food blogging has definitely gotten my confidence up and I truly believe I belong here and will continue to be nothing but great. Any obstacle is simply an opportunity for me to learn and to grow from. It only goes up from here.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Who doesn’t enjoy fineness and food? I’ll wait. I would like to describe my brand as the perfect balance of the two; hence the name, Fine Foodie. I know there’s a lot that goes into the art of food blogging; however, I really focus on the art itself. I take pride in my food photography down to every single detail. I didn’t want to be the average Instagram “baddie” but wanted to show some of the many talents God has blessed me with and photography just happens to be one of them. I’m so proud of my journey thus far and beyond grateful to have this opportunity with Voyage.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I honestly love Dallas so much and I’m never leaving. Moving here was one of the best decisions of my life. I’m absolutely in love with the culture and obviously… the food. I feel like this city really took me in and embraced me so much that I can call it home. The only downside is the traffic, good grief. However, nothing could change my outlook on this beautiful city. I’m here to stay.
