Meet Tia Minzoni

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tia Minzoni, new owner of the private jet company Stella Jets.

Hi Tia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
As a serial entrepreneur, I had always planned to one day start a jet company. Then a kidney cancer diagnosis made me realize that I may not have time to do all the ‘one-day’ things that I had planned. So, I decided to throw out every excuse and reason I had to wait and decied to do it anyway, which had been my motto most of my life, just on a smaller scale.

Now, I am majority owner of Stella Jets LLC, an all-female-owned private jet company located in Southlake, Texas.

With Stella Jets we cater to people who enjoy the safest and most private mode of transportation available, with the opulence of on-demand service. Our services are VIP Concierge private travel booking from aircraft to car service, and more.  Partnered with nearly 7000 aircraft operators worldwide we have the access to book any flight anywhere in the world efficiently for our air charter clientelle.

As an all-female-owned aviation company, not only are we providing exceptional service to our clients, but we are able to inspire others to get started on their dream life without delay. Aviation and aerospace have been historically predominantly male, so being able to show women leading a private aviation company is something that I hope inspires young women. Not only is the Stella Jets ownership team all female, but our executives, investors, and team are very diverse in gender, ethnicty, and in every way possible. We believe a great company is made up of all types of people and points of views, there is just so much education in diversity. Plus, when a young person looks for a career which they feel isn’t typical for someone like them, we want them to be able to see a reflection of themselves in our leadership and team.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
All of my companies have revolved around marketing. Any good, structured company can be great with the right marketing in place, but learning aviation was completely new. There was a bit of a learning curve, but after the first 60 days of completely saturating ourselves in it, the curve became a little less sharp. The aviation commuinty is very welcoming and kind. We have been lucky enough to learn both the history and logistics of aviation from many people in the industry. One of which is Pat Jayne Keefer, who has a great story and legacy of her own. (She’s worth a Google search for sure!)

We will always be learning. Especillay in tech, aviation, marketing, blockchain and aerospace. These industries grow super-fast and it’s pretty exciting for people like us who love to learn. Luckily having a long career as a fractional CMO to a diverse list of companies and specializing in digital marketing and tech, I aquired the skills to learn fast and to always be looking for the lesson in every situation and conversation.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What I love to do most is to inspire others. Mentoring and coaching young women in business has been very rewarding. Sometimes this comes in the form of public speaking to motivate and inspire others to find their passion and joy. Other times it is in direct mentoring or coaching. Either way, it is what brings me the most joy. It’s no secret that being of service is the most rewarding thing we can do.

Also, I love traveling and being by the ocean, or watching the trees blow in the wind and admiring the winding of their branches and how it differs from place to place. Being able to travel and learn from different cultures, people and lands has always facinated me. I love exploring the natural and man made architecture of our world. I simply find the science of life and all things living genuinely captivating. I’m a total science geek at heart.

When I’m not out traveling and taking in all the wonders of this world, I’m enjoying time with my five children, seven grandchildren, and a few very spoiled dogs. Typically we are watching Doctor Who, Marvel, or some other sci-fi or action series/movie or I’m beating them at Mario Kart.

Life is really precious; I wish I had realized how much so before being faced with my mortality. However, I am grateful to have the ‘Carpe Diem’ outlook now and to be loving the life I have left and living it to the fullest.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
My daughter is a best-selling author so first I must say Wrath Patience by Jasmine Johnson is the absolute most riveting fantasy novel I’ve ever read. Outside of that, I’m mostly reading and listening to stuff that gives me perspective. I find that starting each morning with someone else’s perspective on living a positive life, or business lessons, etc.,  gives my brain a great jump start to the morning. Sometimes this is behavioral science; other times its Simon Sinek, Jay Shetty, Ed Mylett, Oprah, Abrham Hicks, Mel Robbins, Gary Vee, Sadhguru, Wayne Dyer, or the many others that are pushing amazing cross-platform content right now. There are just too many greats to list!

If I want a good laugh, I will listen to A Bunch of Losers podcast with Derrick Fox. His laugh is absolutely contagious and can always raise my vibrations.

As for books my go-to list is; Super Brain, Atomic Habits, Courage is Calling, Think and Grow Rich, W1inning, and again there are so many great ones, but these are my most recommended. We have an entire library of books in our home that we have read and look forward to reading. As a family of writers we love the art of wordmasonary and highly support and enjoy it.
