Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Mahon.
Hi Tiffany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I was born in the bustling streets of Queens, New York, to first-generation Guyanese teenage parents, a fusion of cultures and aspirations shaping my path from the very beginning. My journey from the vibrant energy of the city that never sleeps to the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth is a testament to resilience and the pursuit of my family wanting to “create a better life” for my little brother and I. I am the CEO of Modest Muse Org, a nonprofit organization, and the host of the “Past to Present” podcast; I’ve made it my mission to inspire others to triumph over adversity and chase their dreams through acts of service and using my voice. There is no battle too big to win!
My roots are also planted in real estate, ministry, being an author, motivational speaker, and serial entrepreneur. Each step has been guided by a desire to create global impact that transcends borders and cultures. I have had my hand in numerous business ventures, such as Taste of Gaia, a health and nutrition bar. After four years in business, I transformed the business model from a brick-and-mortar establishment to an e-commerce and food truck sensation set to launch in the latter part of 2024. I am the definition of mixing business and impact into one beautiful concoction. My goal has always been clear: to make a difference on a global scale and to empower, inspire, and encourage others to walk in purpose even while they are afraid.
Armed with a degree in criminal justice, I’m passionate about reform and rehabilitation, drawing from my own experiences to advocate for change. My journey through the darkest valleys has only fueled my determination to show others that possibilities are endless when you believe in yourself and have a solid foundation of faith.
Through my podcast, “The Past to Present,” I share insights on overcoming adversity and finding strength in life’s trials. It’s not just about using my voice and skills to empower others; it’s about helping people realize their potential and change their reality for the better.
As I reflect on my journey, I’m reminded of the power of my roots and upbringing, shaping who I am and what I have and will continue to achieve. No matter the trauma, you can overcome. I share my testimony to help others win the battle in their minds and have victory over their lives!
I’m more than a CEO or podcast host; I’m a servant and a guiding light for those navigating life’s challenges. Through my unwavering faith and relentless determination, I continue to inspire others globally to triumph over adversity and chase their dreams. I am the example of what it means to turn pain into purpose and purpose into profit. I share more about my personal life on the podcast and can’t wait to have you tune in!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It certainly hasn’t been a smooth road. A load of mountains and valleys is what I call it. In fact, my journey has been marked by numerous struggles and challenges, each serving as a test of my resilience and determination.
One of the greatest struggles I faced was the process of building while being built myself. Growing up, I experienced trauma such as abandonment, abuse, and even went through a 30-day marriage, all while striving to build my empire. Dealing with these personal challenges while trying to establish a successful career and business was incredibly difficult. It was like the entire world turned their backs on me. There were moments when I felt overwhelmed and doubted whether I could continue.
Another significant hurdle was overcoming depression, especially during times when my foundation in God wasn’t as firm as it should have been. Navigating through the darkness of depression while simultaneously building a business demanded an immense amount of inner strength and resilience.
Furthermore, building the right teams and finding the right support to scale was always a daunting task. In the realm of entrepreneurship, greatness requires a significant amount of work—physically, mentally, financially, and spiritually. Unfortunately, not everyone shares the same level of dedication and commitment. I encountered challenges with individuals who lacked the drive and determination needed to succeed, making it difficult to build a cohesive and effective team needed to scale.
In a society that often prioritizes self-interest and “me-ism,” building businesses focused on helping others presented its own set of obstacles. Many people were skeptical or indifferent to the idea of investing time and effort into initiatives aimed at benefiting others. This societal mindset made it challenging to gain traction and support for my endeavors.
However, these struggles ultimately fueled my motivation to build my personal brand and establish a platform where I could openly discuss the trials and tribulations that come with pursuing greatness. By being vulnerable and transparent about my own experiences, I hope to inspire others facing similar challenges and create a community of support and encouragement for aspiring entrepreneurs and changemakers.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am more laid back and introverted than many may think. When God gives you a calling you answer courageously. Even though someone may be good at something, it doesn’t always mean the journey to unleashing the calling was easy. It took me 4 years to fully launch my podcast, and I finally did it. God doesn’t call the qualified he qualifies the called. Do it and do it afraid.
