Meet Tony Cooks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Cooks.

Hi Tony, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started when I was younger I was basically the picture guy! My family members would always ask me to take pictures of them and I felt like maybe I had something no one else had, which was a vision through a camera. Fast forward to three years ago my mom surprised me with a camera on Christmas and it ended up changing my life the camera of course, was much more different than an phone camera but I got use to it and till this day, I’ve gotten better and better with it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road definitely hasn’t been easy I always relate everything to life it starts off slow but eventually, you’ll get there. I’ve struggled a lot in the past with not being good enough and almost giving up on photography but my motivation has been the people close to me who continue to keep me in high spirits! Through that time, I learned success takes time and it doesn’t happen overnight. You’ll most definitely have some bad days but that’s a part of the process.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a photographer that pretty much tried to capture any and everything I’ve done sports, freelance, wildlife, etc. I feel I’m most known for portraits, though. I feel like I’ve been able to really excel in that area. The thing that I’m most proud of has to be the growth. I’ve grown and I’m continuing to grow daily and the thing that sets me apart from others is that I’m humble, I’m 110% dedicated to this and with this and my journey, I want to be able to help others find their love and passion in life.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to be you and trust your craft. Have confidence and to believe in yourself and what you do and that’s one thing I struggled with growing up but now it has made me a totally different and better person.
