Meet Toriq Ahmed of COSIGN Kicks in Dallas Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toriq Ahmed.

Toriq, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I fell in love with Sneakers in 2001. I use to follow different blogs such as, Nike Talk, Nice Kicks, The Shoe Game, and 23 is back to learn about Sneakers, and find out about different release dates. As the years went by and I became old enough to work. I applied at Footlocker to support my Sneaker Fund (Lol) I end up working for Footlocker for 7 years and worked my way up to Management. In 2015,I decided to go back to School and pursue a Degree in Advertising & Marketing, so I can one day land a career in media and work in the Sneaker Industry. Last October COSIGN Magazine asked to meet with me to see if I would be interested, in starting a Shoe Blog. Of course I agreed, since I had the knowledge of shoes and all the latest trends. And that’s how COSIGNKicks started. I wanted to give the DFW a platform,where I can keep people inform about all the latest sneakers and fashion trends. I one day hope to be a big influencer and make COSIGNKicks worldwide.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have had some tough days, and of course figuring out what to post. I work full time and go to school full time, so keeping up with COSIGNKicks can be a bit time consuming. But at the end of the day I figure it out, and get the job done. All the positive feedback keeps me going.

COSIGN Kicks – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
In my business for COSIGNKicks. We are a daily sneaker blog that deliver news about release dates, the latest fashion, and sneaker events we COSIGN. My job is to post daily on Social Media, post on our website, and keep up with all the latest trends and latest kicks. It’s almost been a year since COSIGN Kicks started, and I am very proud of all the positive feedback,I am receiving from the blog so far. I think what makes us different from any other sneaker website, is that we treat our followers like family. That was my mission, give credit to the influencers, shine light on different brands, photographers, and build a culture for Dallas Fort Worth.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Too many supporters! (Lol) But just to name a few, Big S/O to Bossman KG from COSIGN Magazine for allowing me and trusting me to take over COSIGNKicks, Brandon Allen for helping out with some of our of shoots, and always supporting me. Lamar Johnson from “Nation of Soles” ,another sneaker blog that supports COSIGNKicks heavy. And last but not least my Cousin Lou, which made this interview possible, and also doing a great job with his clothing line “Plots Corporation”.
