Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracie Patterson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tracie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve developed a deep passion for helping people build their businesses in a conscientious and ethical way. Businesses often talk at their audience making selling harder. I’ve seen too many good, honest business owners and salespeople push hard to see progress for their business for barely a return. The power of messaging opens doors and makes getting that first yes and consecutive yeses so much easier.
Sales are solution-based relationships. Relationships are formed with people who like and trust you. Honing your messaging to speak to their wants and needs speeds up that process and lets you both win.
When I see sales materials (websites, decks, emails) touting how great the company is and how many features the company has, but nothing about what that actually means for the customer, I know there’s a knowledge gap.
This realization led me to begin creating powerful quizzes for small businesses and teaching business development teams on how to recraft their corporate pitches into relationship and sales builders.
I understand where you come from and can translate your messages into what the customer needs to know so they act on your offer.
Having worked with and mentored entrepreneurs and startups for over a decade, I’ve discovered how crucial speaking directly to your audience and their problem is.
Your audience must know about you and how you solve their problem to consider buying from you. After they know you, you have to show them you understand them so they like and trust you. Once you do that, magic is born.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Roads typically aren’t smooth, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t joy in the ride.
Like many people, before the lockdown, I was excited about my business and the direction I was headed. I had work to do and things to keep learning, but the world shifted.
There were dark times when work dried up as the world was trying to figure out how to adapt, but dark times are often where pivots are born.
I was working on quizzes already, but with more time to devote to study, I learned the true power of quizzes. I started working on quizzes for a few clients, enjoyed the process, and decided to narrow my focus from a complete sales conversion strategist to quiz creator and sales message honer.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My focus now is on the most powerful conversion weapons of Quiz Funnels and my Client-First Framework.
Quizzes humanize the business and reach the heart of your audience to build know, like, and trust quickly! The quiz taker learns about you and your business while, in turn, you show the quiz taker you understand them so the quiz taker begins to like you and starts building trust. People buy from people they like and trust.
Client-First Framework takes your feature-driven messaging and redirects it to speak directly to your desired audience. While I do still take corporate clients and write their messaging, I’m also launching a course in February to teach this framework to business development professionals so they have the power to create messages any time that are honest, benefit-driven, and show your client you have the solution to their problem. Whether in pitch decks, emails, or even the voicemails you leave. Everything you do will be audience-focused to speed up the relationship and create sales.
I always look forward to building complete quiz funnels and I will continue 1:1 clients with quizzes and landing pages.
But in continuation of my first passion and serving my corporate clients on a deeper level, the course teaches you to create materials that pull their weight and work as hard as you do for sales so you stop risking your pay and feeling like you beg for sales. In turn, you see consistent results and beat your targets to confidently win every month.
What were you like growing up?
You might have to ask my parents about that, but what I remember most is my desire for adventure, lots of adventure, and always finding ways to help people and start businesses.
For instance, when we had to sell wrapping paper as a school fundraiser, I’d also offer to wrap the presents when I delivered the new wrapping paper- I even wrote up and signed a note promising the parents I wouldn’t tell the kids at school what they were getting if they hired me to wrap the presents!
I was the top seller in 5th grade and still wrap well!
My other stongest memory is visiting my grandfather, who was ill, at the care home. There were so many interesting people there that I quickly became everyone’s granddaughter! I heard amazing stories of travel, war, and families. Learned how to crochet wire hangers from a lady who’s mom had survided the Blitz so they don’t misshape sweaters and sat with everyone in the conservatory developing a deep love of puzzles and storytelling- which still continues today.
I deeply miss travelling and adventures. There’s so much of the world left to see and I cannot wait to get back to making new adventures so I’ll have great ones to share one day!
